Haha that's what I was thinking. While we're at it lets get two Patrick Willis' and two Clay Mathews'. Seems like they just want two guys who can cover mainly. Sounds like we will be playing a lot of 2 deep. That is if the front 7 can stop the run on it's own consistently.
So who is left on the board of interest? Quinton Carter, S , Oklahoma... Chris Carter, OLB I really like Carter. Not sure they feel the need to grab another LB now with Reed and Barwin on the team. Are there any high ceiling receivers out there still?
In the fourth round, I'm hoping for either Josh Thomas, cornerback from Buffalo(who I believe is a swing for the fences-type pick), or Robert Sands, the big safety from West Virginia.
Prospects Available Not sure why Quinton Carter (edit: under CB's) isn't on there but either him or Black would be my choice. Sands guy sounds like a beast as well.
Clint Boling - OG Pass Protection 3 Gets set quickly and can protect B-gap but concerned about ability to protect the edge at the next level. Arms are on the shorter side and can short set working against top competition. Quick feet and can shuffle but plays with a narrow base. Strong club and rip moves can throw him off balance. Flashes the ability to absorb and reset against bull rushers but doesn't sink well and can give too much ground. Effective cut blocker. Run Blocking 3 Not big enough to engulf defensive linemen or strong enough to move them off the ball. Doesn't always cover enough ground with first step but athletic enough to develop into an effective zone blocker with improved footwork. Quick enough to establish position and can deliver strong compact punch. Can sustain and does a nice job of sliding down to take out defender's legs when starts to lose block. Uses momentum against defenders and can wash them down the line of scrimmage. Not an elite athlete but can cover linebackers. Takes sound angles to second level blocks and shows above average body control in space. Smooth and shows good range when asked to pull.
Doss and Gates are intriguing prospects, and WR is definitely a sneaky need. Wouldn't mind one of them.
Yeah WR is definitely a need a position. Andre is getting older, Walter has lost a step already, and Jacoby hasn't show enough. Obviously if there is a safety they think can play now that's a better deal.
I figured we would go after Clint Boling, but Cincy just nabbed him. Guess we're going Safety or Receiver.
I'm not sure about this pick, but I would like to at some point get Robert Sands (I find his size intriguing) and Jerell Powe (space eater in the middle of the D-Line).
