Actually, I was including the Knicks (23-59) and the Clippers (19-63).

I think at least this year Randolph has had a better supporting cast around him than Scola who has played all year without a true center alongside him, while ZBO has 2 of them.
Name by name, the Grizz are a better team, maybe Martin can be better than Gay for some and the PG position can be equal but there would be few arguments that the Rox is a better constructed team or have more talent than this Grizzlies.
Yet, Scola´s team is 26-30 and Randolph´s is 30-26, 4 games difference and i would bet that we will end with a better record than the Grizz.
I don´t see Randolph as the great player some see, he has great numbers but i don´t see him as a great upgrade over Scola, who has had to play a position he is not fit to play with arguably good results.
You put Scola in for Randolph and i bet the Grizz are a PO team.

Few interesting comments here.. shame on me for thinking we could get him for just Scola+ -- we don't have anyone on our current roster that could acquire ZBO.

I'll be rooting for the Grizzlies to come out of the West this year.

he's gonna be 30 soon. too old to build around.

plus, if the team wanted to win now they would've kept adelman.

this idea doesn't make sense in either direction of thought. not gonna happen.

Sergei ibaaka will expose zbo, everyone will jump off his hype train 10 days from sunday. He is good but not great, he is in his prime and has some solid years left. But the success of the grizzlies is more about the team not just Randolph.

I'm not entirely sure Ibaka will "expose" Randolph. ZBo may be hindered in that matchup more than when he was against Duncan or McDyess, but I think Zach will have a good series nonetheless.

But it really will have to be a great all around game by the entire Grizz team to beat this OKC team; they can't expect Randolph to get his, against a younger / more athletic frontline.

Since Z-bo just signed a huge extension, does this mean that Gasol is the odd man out and a target for the rockets?

He's 29, so I'm not sure how he would fit with our rebuilding plans...
However, if we were to try and win now next year, IMO a great way to do it would be to either draft a center or trade for one in a Scola package, and sign Randolph. That team would make the playoffs next year for sure, and given the way Randolph has carried the Grizzlies this year, make it past the first round and possibly farther. He needs to be playing at the high level he is now to make it work, though.

If they let Gasol go, they'll be just like us. However I'd love a Scola for Gasol trade, if it could be arranged.

I fail to see how an incredibly athletic PF can expose a bruiser pf with a very unconventional but efficient scoring instincts. I LOVE Ibaka, but I think Z Bo definitely wins this matchup.

Kenyon Martin put up 11.8 ppg on Ibaka with 48% shooting. Obviously those arn't killer stats, but it's still 3 ppg more per game then his season average at expense of only -3 FG%. Considering Randolph is significantly better then K Mart, I think Z Bo is going to do quite well. Especially because The thunder have to worry about Gasol in the post as well.

It's funny nobody want Zach Randolph when he was bouncing from team to team. All of sudden when he play great in the Playoffs, everybody want him lol. I knew he was a hell of a player when he was with Portland and Rockets didn't do anything about getting him while he was moving from team to team lol.

I like how they use Chuck Hayes quotes for Zbo, emphasizing his toughness. Would be a slight upgrade from Scola.

I wipe my ass with the NY times, I live in Houston, Texas!
