on paper it is because I think they were only 1 game behind for number 1 in the league but they tanked a few games in the end by only playing their bench, allowing the Bulls to overtake them. Mavs at the time were considered the best team while the same couldn't be said for the Spurs this season so it depends on how you take it.
tony allen benched in crunch time because he was killing the O. battier on court as grizzlies put game away.
Well, record-wise they were (I think they won 67), but even then no one really took the Mavs too seriously, and GS did wax them in all three games during the season. I certainly didn't think the Grizz had a chance in this series and they very well could have swept it.
No that mavs team won 67 games and got beat by a team full of jump shooters. Spursnhave been a finesse team that relied on fast break transition buckets. They ran into a more physical squad.
I think Golden State was the bigger upset. I think the Mavs had 67 wins or something like that. I think these Grizzlies, would beat those Warriors.
Why the hell can't we respect that team? I've never understood it. And yes, it's the end of an era, and some nightmare that affected us when we never even played against Duncan in a playoff series. Heck, we schooled him with McGrady's 13 in 33.
Hope the Grizz didn't blow their load this series. They did beat the Thunder 3-1 in the regular season so they have that. Allen might be able to shut down Durant.
Yeah, I respect the organization and everything. They have a good coach, and great players. There is still no chance I would ever. EVER. EVEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAR root for the Spurs.
