This thread is awesome, guys. Keep it going....trust me, every workout becomes easier, every break you take becomes shorter, and every move you do burns a little less each time. It's incredible to watch your body transform right in front of you, and when you're done, you're going to be in shape like you won't believe. And remember, if you're ever dragging, just check into this thread, and there will be plenty of people here to give you all the motivation you need!

I started doing a combo of insanity and p90x this week, yesterday let's just say I had a slight case of bulimia afterwards, today not so much, it was actually a little easier, now with that being said...I can't feel my soul lol even my toes are sore...I'm hoping that not only does this get me in shape but can act as a crutch to finally help me quit smoking, I've got it down to between 3 to 6 cigs a day but can't quite make that last leap, crossing my fingers, I still remember that damn spring break in panama city I bummed my first smoke, damn curse is what these things are...anyway I hope to have good posts over the next few months :)

Try doing this workout, it's the Insanity sports training video. You do all kind of sports drills, basketball, boxing, gymnastics, and track. If you can do it with no problems, then you're probably ready for asylum. Right click and save as...

Protip: doing Kenpo on a slick surface (hardwood floors + socks) makes it a lot harder.

Rest day today and cheat meal tonight, i've earned it :D

shoulders and arms today. since you don't do that workout for all of phase 2, i forgot how fun/relatively easy it is. i really like that you switch things up in phase 3 and go chest/back/shoulders/arms in weeks 9 & 11 and triceps/back/biceps in 10 & 12.

i know a few people who started on monday. it's fun being able to talk to them about their workouts because I'm doing the exact same schedule this week. support and motivation ftw!

    how's everyone doing?

Legs and back this morning was a bit more brutal than normal. Ab Ripper X has gotten sooo much easier though.

    4 measly weeks left!

Did chest/back last night and then I tried doing a rare morning workout (plyometrics) since I got up so early.

Not the best idea I've ever had, got my azz kicked... bad

But at least I don't have to workout tonight!

Just finishing up my rest week. Then phase 3 starts on Monday. Ab Ripper X is not bad at all anymore. But I still can't keep up 100% on the scissor exercise and don't do the bonus on the last exercise, 40 is enough :p.

I know what you mean about the scissor...most of the time I cheat by putting my hand behind my knee. I try to barely touch it. I can't keep it anywhere near straight and vertical without a little support.

I realized last week I've been doing the count on the v up rollups completely wrong. I love that move, but I've always counted one FULL move as one, and always got frustrated that they were moving so fast. Well I actually looked at the video when I was doing it last week and realized that they count 2 for each full move. I am now a lot happier when doing that exercise!

mason twists are awesome. They used to kill me but now I like the feeling of keeping up with Tony and finishing strong ;)

I don't know if it's because I do Ab Ripper X directly after whichever 1-hour workout I'm doing, but I still find it to be the hardest part of P90X. Those scissor crunches or whatever they're called are brutal. I just finished Week 2 yesterday.

On Day 7, do you guys usually rest, or do the Stretch X?

    Edit: 5,000 posts!

I set up my routine where Yoga X and Stretch X fall on Sunday and Wednesday, respectively.

If I feel like doing those routines, I do them.

If I don't, I just go run at the park and do some light stretching on my own.

The majority of the time I choose the latter.

Also, I've yet to do Ab Ribber once. Honestly, abs are very overrated. I get the feeling they threw that workout in there to placate the "I need a flat stomach" crowd that obsess over crunches.

Really?? I never used to do sit-ups either, but once I got onto Ab Ripper, I just felt like my entire core got stronger. I still incorporate Ab Ripper into my workouts at the gym actually, simply because I think they've helped me so much. It could all be mental though, I suppose.

I've never lacked for core strength, it's one of the things I've always kept up with even during my periods of little activity, so I'm probably the wrong audience.

If there are some low back strengtheners, I could probably stand to do a few of those.

Ah that's probably why you find the yoga so easy. Me, i had nonexistent core strength and the first time I did ARX I could not finish 75% of the moves. Yoga still makes me sweat like a mofo every time. With ARX, I don't know if it works per se, but it feels good to see so much improvement over 60 days.

Well I can definitely tell my midsection is more toned, and I've lost a total of 8.5 inches off my hips and waist. As of this morning I'm down 18 pounds. The easier it gets for me the more results I seem to have, so I enjoy my little 15 minute ab lab 3 times a week.
