    "CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – NASA has begun fueling its youngest orbiter, the space shuttle Endeavour, for one last journey to space today (April 29).

    Endeavour is set to launch on its 25th and last voyage at 3:47 p.m. EDT (1947 GMT) from here at NASA's Kennedy Space Center. Weather forecasts predict a 70 percent chance of clear skies, but if clouds or strong winds linger at the launch pad NASA may have to delay the liftoff.

    Endeavour will journey to the International Space Station for a two-week visit to deliver a $2 billion astrophysics experiment designed to hunt for exotic subatomic particles.

    The 30-year shuttle program will end this summer with the flight of Atlantis."

    I will miss this beauty; I saw her launch once. This is the sort of stuff America should be known around the world again for like we used to back in the 60s and 70s.

    Yep, STS-135 is last mission though so I expect much more nostalgia then. So many people are going to go see this one, imagine how crazy it'll be for the last one.

    Plus Rep. Gifford will be there to watch it after getting shot in the head. To me that is almost as impressive as the shuttle.

    Bump.

    <fanfare>Anyone else gonna try to catch a glimpse as Atlantis cruises the sky for the last time? It apparently will be pretty low in the sky (12° or so) for those in Htown, will pass across the Yucatan and over the Gulf of Mexico at 5:43-5:44am central, and will be followed after roughly 40 seconds by the ISS. Each should take about 3 minutes to cross the sky. Might be hard to spot that low, but I'm gonna give it a shot, my kid wants to see, or so he says.
    </fanfare>

    I don't know if it's sad, or if it's just the feeling of age..having seen the whole program come and go... or if it's just the question marks left behind, but it makes me a bit uncomfortable seeing it end.
    Here is an article on Yahoo that has more information.

    and here is where the shuttle is currently.

    Salute to the end of an era.
