I'm talking greatest basketball players ever, not position specific.

Dream dominated Robinson and Robinson was Duncan's mentor. I don't see what there is to debate here. Heck Robinson and Duncan will probably say that Hakeem is better.

Tim Duncan isn't in the same league as Hakeem and that's at PF or center.

    END OF DISCUSSION!!!!!!

Anybody that thinks otherwise needs to put the crack pipe down.

    I then you woke up....

Duncan stepped into a ready made team with a teammate that was NBA MVP just a couple of years earlier. Duncan played in an era of dwindling big men while Dream was the best Center in the league during the golden age of big men. Duncan is great.... a hall of fame player..... but there really is no competition that Dream was superior.

    Hakeem was a center. Period.

Hakeem > Robinson/Duncan regardless of whether he played PF or C.

    to add to that..

that bolded statement alone makes Hakeem better.. because the fact Duncan wussies out to being labeled PF to avoid having to play defense on Centers speaks on his heart a bit, while Hakeem just didnt give a damn he took on all comers for 48 minutes, 82 games a year (48/82)-new phrase

Dream was a better scorer, shooter, rebounder, shotblocker, and individual defender than Duncan. He was also faster, more versatile, and a better ballhawk.

    Duncan has more leadership.

i loved reading this, I know a bunch of spurs fans that go to the grave saying robinson was better or equal and it annoys me. They will site overall championships and overall stats which once again shows why numbers dont tell the whole story

I see what you're trying to say, but Duncan is actually in that discussion as well.

    Better than Olajuwon? no

San Antonio has only 3 things over Houston: Fajitas, margaritas, and the Alamo.

Anyone else find it funny that more people disagree with Horry on a Rockets board than in the article itself, which is on a Spurs site?

Hakeem was the best playa in his younger days and the best player in his prime.

Of course he was better than Robinson and Duncan, but better than Jordan? Come on guys, get real. That's homerism at its finest and you wont' find that take ANYWHERE outside of Houston.

Only because Hakeem was kind enough to play Center. Hakeem is a better Center and PF than TD. Hakeem could probably play every position better than TD.
