They are not as bad as I thought they'd be. Their offense is quite a surprise actually. The pitching is completely in the crapper though.
I can't wait till we get rid of C. Lee and start seeing Wallace in the clean up spot. He's not proven and has like no HR power to speak of, but seems like he's hitting doubles every AB. Just rakin'.
possibly nobody, but mills seems to have trust in those 2 in important situations like they are rivera and hoffman. i think abad leads the majors in appearances. ryan franklin blew 2 saves, and la russa had the presence of mind to demote him, and they lead the nl central. there hasn't been a single demotion on our roster, and we have the worst record in the majors. that doesn't add up to me. melancon should have his shot closing, and lyon should be back to middle relief. maybe wade's penchant for overpaying for unimpressive middle relief (yes, i know lyon is among them) actually isn't the most boneheaded strategy in the world. mediocre would be a huge step up from atrocious. our pen is making it nearly impossible to win games, which is aggravating, because somehow our ragtag offense is the best we've seen in 10 years.
