I wonder if the Texans are sitting on a trade down offer, waiting to see if the guy they want drops father down.
No, you still don't get it. Not even close. It's one thing to have doubts. I'm not in love with the pick either - I would have gone Fairley. It's quite another to curse, scream and ramble like idiots, claiming you're ready to sell season tickets, etc., all over a guy you don't even know. I'm fine with having an unfavorable opinion. I just prefer it when folks keep it in the confines of reality, which is that most of us don't know a lot and could VERY easily be wrong.
The only thing that kills me about the pick is that you just took a guy who won't necessarily even start for you. And if he does, how much of an improvement will he be over Antonio Smith? Just doesn't make sense to me.
I know it's not the Texans style but lots of good defensive players left on the board. Is trading back up to the 1st out of the question?
Here's the problem Cat, if JJ Watt hits the level of play they expect (even based on Wade Phillip's comments at the press conference) he doesn't make this defense significantly better than it was with Antonio Smith at that spot. I genuinely hope this team is prepared to spend big in FA. If not, we are all going to be pissed off again when Kubiak is surviving after a playoffless season.
DE is about the ONLY position on the defense that did not need to be addressed I'm sure Watt is a good player and can be a good defensive end, but they didnt need him, they had so many more needs
Which team has the big box at offensive line that will require Watt to jump over it to get to the quarterback?
