oh, i've no doubt there are quacks ducking, but to imply all opposition to The Wonce is rayciss is no saner a thought than what you're attempting to deride in this thread.
I get that and I'm not naive enough to deny that it's happening on some levels. There are racist people in all walks of life. Hell, my neighbor drives a car with anti-Bush stickers all over it and is a life-long Democrat, but she flat out said she didn't vote for Obama because he's a [n-word]. I know a lot of people probably feel the same way, but I just don't think that's the overwhelming reason for the birther nonsense. People make fun of Rush Limbaugh for being a fat ass, but does that mean they hate all fat people? Of course not. They're just taking a cheap shot at a political enemy. That's what I think a lot of these birthers are doing. Not all, but the majority IMO. In summary, being STUPID doesn't necessarily mean you're a racist.
To deny that dark skin and a funny sounding name play no part (or a majority part, even. hatred of all things democrat being an obvious given) in people's suspicion of the President's origins is a thought moreso lacking in sanity, IMO.
IMO, all birthers are either 1) stupid or racist or crazy or all three 2) or taking advantage of the people on #1
yeah and you don't find responding to me tedious. YES or NO to both questions. it's a total of 4 to 6 letters depending on your answer. not that tedious. do you believe that a US state of Hawaii issued Certificate of Live Birth (short form) which says Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii was enough proof that Obama was indeed born in the US? YES or NO? do you believe that Obama virtually broke all of his campaign promises? YES or NO?
The summit was on CSPAN. I watched it, but I wasn't sure where I watched it. <iframe width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/0SL2rK0DInQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Det, thanks. I completely agree with your observations. I feel like a cat playing with a ball of twine; it is so easy to string vlaurelio along and roll his ball every which way.
since a simple YES or NO is too tedious for you, let's play a simplet multiple choice.. what question do you want to answer first? 1 or 2? 1) do you believe that a US state of Hawaii issued Certificate of Live Birth (short form) which says Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii was enough proof that Obama was indeed born in the US? YES or NO? 2) do you believe that Obama virtually broke all of his campaign promises? YES or NO?
Fair enough, but at least we got to see a significant part of the process. It's a step in the right direction.
I see what you're saying. I will just add that the people who hate Limbaugh for other reasons but still use his fatness to attack him are being "fatists" at least in those particular attacks.
Spoiler http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=78232&postcount=1 vlaurelio, have you transfered $ 100 to the tip jar yet? YES or NO?
LOL birthers are one thing.. but having the same beliefs as birthers and not admitting that you're a birther is another..
I cannot think of another good reason anymore, seriously. 1) The courts agreed that what was given was accurate and sufficient. 2) Other candidates have far more interesting backgrounds and were not subject to this scrutiny (McCain and George Romney come to mind). 3) If it's simply a democrat vs republican thing, where were the folks demanding Kerry's birth certificate, or dems demanding to see McCain's? Perhaps the media frenzy has played some part, but even that is arguably just playing on people's prejudices.
Kerry lost so no one cared. When Gore lost it went on for years people talking about a stolen election.
