Centralize ethics and lobbying information for voters Allow five days of public comment before signing bills Tougher rules against revolving door for lobbyists and former officials Double funding for afterschool programs Allow bankruptcy judges to modify terms of a home mortgage Pay for the national service plan without increasing the deficit Limit term of director of national intelligence Enact windfall profits tax for oil companies Provide an annual report on "state of our energy future" Introduce a comprehensive immigration bill in the first year Increase the capital gains and dividends taxes for higher-income taxpayers Create a foreclosure prevention fund for homeowners Expand the child and dependent care credit End income tax for seniors making less than $50,000 End no-bid contracts above $25,000 Sign the Employee Free Choice Act, making it easier for workers to unionize Forbid companies in bankruptcy from giving executives bonuses Direct the Secretary of Health and Human Services to conduct a comprehensive study of federal cancer initiatives Close the Guantanamo Bay Detention Center I was just bored and curious. These are a sample of ones that I found. BTW, those of you STILL questioning where he was born and claiming forgery are pathetic.
Because of all this, I decided to check out some local talk radio (always an adventure....) on my 10-minute drive home last night and again this morning. The guy last night (Michael Barry?) was criticizing Obama for waiting this long to release the BC and kept saying "what was he afraid of???" So basically, he criticized Obama for not releasing his BC, then once he released it, he criticized him for....releasing it? The guy this morning (Joe Pag?) was calling for the release of his college transcripts and questioning if he really was admitted to Harvard. Really?? As far as the racism thing, Republicans have been throwing mud at Democrats (and visa versa) since the beginning of time. I'm not sure if people were expecting it to all the sudden stop just because the Democratic President happens to be black. If they don't like Obama because he's black, how do you explain the hate for the Clintons?
There's something distinctly different in questioning one's citizenship, IMO. The vibe is "you don't belong here". It's also puerile inasmuch as it removes any relevant contextual debate from the table. If you claim Obama is not legitimately president due to his birthplace, there is no need to explain one's opposition to his policies.
thanks I'm pretty sure that Obama did break some of his campaign promises. I just don't believe thumbs that Obama "virtually broke all" of them. BTW, politifact says Obama made at least 500 promises during the campaign and they broke down what happened to each and everyone of them
You can not like people because of their race, in addition to their political affiliation. They are not mutually exclusive.
Ronald Reagan didn't have a birth certificate when he was born. He tried enlisting in the Army in 1942, and they requested one. The State of Illinois made one for him.
I think mud would have been slung regardless. It's the type of mud that's being slung. Again a white guy named John Smith would not have his citizenship questioned. The only reason people buy into it is because to them it is more plausible a black person named Barack Hussein Obama could be born outside of the US. It doesn't fit into their idea of what Americans are supposed to be like.
birther teapartier Marilyn Davenport, an elected Republican official from Orange County, California. She distributed a photo of a chimp family, with Obama’s face Photoshopped over the chimp child, with the text, “Now you know why — No birth certificate.”
Obama is associated with so many lies people refer to him as "the golf course." He is almost as celebrated for his deceptions as you are for your paucity of wit.
Yeah, just like you can't "prove" you love someone... etc. etc. If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and talks like a duck, then it probably wouldn't be negligent or lazy of us to assume it's a duck.
Actually a lot of these were followed through on. They may not have been in the exact same shape, but there are tougher regulations regarding lobbyists, There are restructuring options for mortgages of homeowners, There were restrictions on executive bonuses, His national service plan proposals didn't increase the deficit. They may not have been completed, and certainly not done to the level of satisfaction I would like, but at least those have been followed through to some degree.
Not surprised at all that this hasn't stopped birther madness or that many of those who demanded to see his long form birth certificate are now criticizing the release of it, or spinning new conspiracies. As I said before I didn't think this was needed. I will be curious to see if this changes his favorbility ratings but I doubt it will.
To determine an accurate answer rather than a less than lucid assumption, please go back and read my responses. Of course, my optimism for clarity on your behalf is limited by the shackles of your limited intellect, or perhaps from your weak grasp of the English language.
can you read these? do you believe that a US state of Hawaii issued Certificate of Live Birth (short form) which says Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii was enough proof that Obama was indeed born in the US? YES or NO? do you believe that Obama virtually broke all of his campaign promises? YES or NO?
