My point is that if you believe ekking out a victory when you should be playing for your life inspires confidence, then so be it.

Just remember you needed a miracle tip to manu, and a desperation 3 pointer from neal.

The spurs made the shots they needed to. Hats off to them.

So does this also imply Rudy is not necessary for winning?

I prefer a balanced attack. Conley/Mayo/Battier can't be depended on when it counts. When you face the Lakers and the bigs get neutralized, who do you turn to?

Not even a Spurs fan, I was hoping the Grizz would pull it off. But was calling it like I see it with Battiers defense lapse in regulation costing them the game. It's alright, he cost the Rockets his fair share of games, though he also won them a fair share too.

Battier's scoring is pretty limited. He'll score a little here and there, giving you 10 points on a good night. As we saw today, the only offense mostly came from the bigs.

Plus, I think some people are labelling Gay as a Marbury or a Ellis who is a scorer that doesn't help win games. He's their 2nd best player right now, and thats pretty hard to leave on the bench.

If Rudy is healthy, then they should definitely put him back in my opinion. You can't reply on Sam Young game in and game out.

This is the last post about this game I'm going to do: I am really not worried that the spurs will win the next game much less the series.

But, I am not sure what you mean about battier?

Although the play still worked out for the Griz, if he made the pass at the right time, he would have had Mayo in the backcourt and OJ would've come real close to running out the clock. Battier wanted to do it...You could tell from his body language, but his nuts shrank, as they often do in important moments, and he hesitated and it was too late. It still wasn't as bad as his play at the end. He snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Vintage Shane Battier tonight.

But, but, but he's so cerebral...he's so smart....what he lacks in athleticism, he makes with intelligence and always being in the right place at the right time...blah, blah, blah.

What excuse will the mindless drones come up with now that all that bs has been disproven.

I still think the Griz win the series, but they will have to overcome the poor play of Battier, as Memphis and Houston fans are accustomed to, and win in spite of him.

And Lol @ the people saying the Griz are better without Rudy Gay.

I want the Grizz to win this series. But as others have mention, Parker turned back the clock in OT, he was championship Parker and drilled 3 buckets row or something like that. That alone could cost Grizz this series. Did you see Parker's footwork and follow through? It's like the year 2005 all over again.

I hope so but man that was a tough way to lose. Game 6 will be a lot of pressure on them.

Memphis coach just called out Battier indirectly on the missed defensive plan that cost Grizzlies the game.

I like how you call everybody a hater when you are one of the biggest ones around. Also, Battier's nuts shrink in clutch situations? What about that 3 to give them the win? Or the time he absolutely owned Kobe scoring 15 in the 4th quarter this season? Battier made a mistake tonight, but if he made a pass to Mayo its very probable there could be a steal.

    Haters gonna hate.

That's a loser's mind. They still 3-2 lead, should just prepare for the Game 6 at homecourt.

I remember Carlisle didn't blame Kidd or other players when they lost Game 4 in Portland. Instead, he said he would take the responsibility for the loss.

The loss was not on Battier alone. Get over it!
