This OT is Battier's fault. He was hugging on Tim Duncan instead of running to help guard the 3 point line.
someone mentioned a spot shadow. that wasn't on fssw. and i was typing during the replay. guess battier didn't get out there. but you still can't foul. you don't know the guy is going to dribble and with nba continuation they could easily call it in the act. 4 or 5 seconds, cool. 1.7 when the guy has to shoot right away, can't risk it.
If the Grizzlies go on to lose this series, this game is going to be a case study on why you foul when you're up 3 with less than 5 second left.
I remember after Game 1 somebody started a thread talking about how Battier won the game, but will somebody start a thread about how he cost the Griz this game if they lose?
Nah, Mem has pllayed consistent and the Spurs needed two miricles to send it to overtime. Spurs are also old.
You don't wanna see it cuz your idol f'd up big time. You'll have to go to your Battier shrine and start crying as all your boyhood fantasies will be shattered.
Man Kenny Smith is going to be saying "I told you sos" during the post game. You have to remember the Griz are a young team. What will this do t them mentally. Knowing they had the game pretty much in hand only to give it away will be tough.
the spurs have to hit 2 miracle shots in 3 seconds or their season is over and they hit both. couldn't they just miss one? would that be so hard? lots of people miss those shots. gary f'ing neal? come on universe. they've won enough, let them have a painful loss. now they'll probably get to avoid the shame of a 1/8 defeat.
I'll never understand the decision to not foul when you're up by 3 with 5 seconds left. As I recall the Rockets lost a game or two that way during the season.
I like Tony Allen, too. They're both very good wing defenders. Battier is averaging more minutes than Allen this series, by the way.
