When it shows the "PSN under maintenance" screen, click the circle button and it should let you through.
Wow. This is bad. I didn't know this until someone I know posted "hey, let's play ps2 online... oops, you can't! " Go to their website and find out first if they've put out a notice. What's calling them going to do, break the partnership with Sony?
Try to sign in, wait for the message to say that PSN is undergoing maintence, then press circle. I'm on netflix right now Btw, here are the server logs for the PSN http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=428579
meh.. sounds bad for Sony and PSN users.. but it's not bad. Yes, some identify theft may actually result, but for most of the 70 million users - maybe like 99.7%, life will go on and nothing will happen. Even if existing customers are pissed, really, what are they going to do? Sell their PS3 and buy an XBox 360? What about all their PSN friends, services, games, trophies, multiplayer accounts, etc. I doubt it.. the switching cost involved in doing something like that is not insignificant. Really, all Sony needs to do is turn on PSN again and let people play black ops. People are really mad when their daily routine is disrupted. Once life goes back to normal, people forgive and forget. I think it's that simple.
So...you link to a thread that says in bold, red letters at the top that this was all debunked (i.e., logs are unrelated to this PSN problem)? And that was all done long before you posted this? Easy mistake I guess, but maybe you should check your sources a little better before posting them. (not that I have always done the best job either . And of course lots of sites posted that without doing any fact-checking, which doesn't help.)
A few existing customers might jump ship, but the big hit sony will take is from the on-the-fence-about-buying-a-ps3 market. Those people won't forget simply because sony turns the network back on.
LOL at the ps3 vs xbox "rivalry". Seriously, do people really argue about this? Can you say DORK? Anyway, like others have said, Netflix is unaffected. Watched it all weekend. It loads in the background as you're trying to sign on. Takes a little longer, but it loads and you don't need to be signed on to use it.

My bad son, I don't do video games. I just thought i'd share. I used to be a video game fanatic, you used to know my old moniker lol. I'm not going into detail though No need to get mad.
According to a research firm, the data leak could cost Sony more than $24 billion... That's a lot of money. You think Sony is pondering subscription fees now? http://www.gamespot.com/news/6310436.html?tag=latestheadlines;title;1
This does suck, on so many levels...not only for the consumers, but developers, corp, etc... I've been out of the loop for about a week, so I wasn't aware of all of this...
If anyone saw my account info, all they got is my username, a fake birthday, and a fake address and name. No credit cards or anything. I am pissed though, stupid 2k11 gets ****ed up since it can't connect to the server.
I almost bought some expansion stuff for a few of my games. So happy i never did and thus didn't have a credit card on there.
First lawsuit was filed today: http://ps3.ign.com/articles/116/1164392p1.html. If it gets class action status (and I'd be stunned if it didn't), I'm curious what Sony will settle for. I imagine several million people will join the lawsuit even if their data was not compromised.
I meant to add that the US Senate and British Parliament are also investigating this. Not a good time to be a Sony executive.
From the biggest Apple fanboy who cry and b**** like a baby when someone makes fun of Apple. Calling people troll when you're the biggest troll cry baby.
