How about we look at hiring Mario Elie is head coach and Sam Cassell as one of his assistants? Bring back the players who won you 2 championships! Just a thought...
Wide open search/process means Rockets don't even know what they're looking for. Most of the coaches that are supposedly interviewing for the job, Rockets management already know the style they'd bring. They're interviewing different coaches w/ different styles. If they knew what they were looking for, then why interview everybody.
Wouldn't wanna mess with her (him?).... dude has connections. Wouldn't want her (him?) calling "ballers around the world" to her aid when she's (he's?) angry.
I'm just going to put this in my sig until the Rox sign Elie. <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/OnIy_NhcDFg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Not even close. He was 19-12 relieving Flip Saunders in 2004. He had Garnett, Wally Z, Cassell, a fastly aging Sprewell and a boatload of no names including Eddie Griffin and the Kandi-man. In 2008, McHale relieved Randy Wittman after a 4-15 start. McHale went 20-43 with basically Al Jefferson, Randy Foye, Ryan Gomes, rookie Kevin Love, an aging Mike Miller, Telfair, McCants, Carney, Corey Brewer, Shelden Williams, Kevin Ollie, Brian Cardinal and Calvin Booth. I've no problem with McHale. Let the Rockets cast as big a net as they need. As long as there is a gapping hole in the net closest to Mike Brown...it's all good.
It was 3 1st rd pickks. They were lower picks, but it really killed depth because garnetts monster contract.Overral, mchale did a good job with minny, but he had a couple he wish he could have back. Allen for marbury, foye for roy, the smith debacle, and firing casey. If mchale wouldve kept roy, garnett would probably still be in minny now. Garnett in 95 and Allen in 96 wouldve been nice too.
