Bump Anyone else watch this tonight? Pretty amazing talent, completely blows idol out of the water imo. Love the format too
Haven't seen it yet. Gonna watch online tomorrow. I did, however catch the guy who sang "Time After Time." Wow, what a voice.
I really like the idea of the "Blind Auditions". People with great voices SHOULD get an opportunity, regardless of how attractive they are. And really, the voice quality tonight was far beyond a lot of what I've seen from American Idol this season. My favorite singer in this first show would probably be Javier Colon. I really, really like his voice. I also really liked Rebecca Loebe's version of Come As You Are. I think I actually liked that version more than Nirvana's. I like the coaches too. All of them obviously know what they are talking about, and it'll be interesting to see how they plan on helping the people on their "team".
I think it beats AI...i dont watch AI anymore because it's so stretched out with other nonsense....on this show it's much more to the point, but they do keep talking about how pretty they are and their looks, so it's about their voice, unless they're good looking, then it's about both...good chemistry between them.
this Javier guy has a ton of soul <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/8-oen0Of_R4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I think the idea is strong. Plus there is a lot of potential with the big name singers they can bring in to be coaches, people will tune in just to see that. So it has promise. I see it more as a alternative to Idol...and personally I love to see people get humiliated in the American Idol auditions. It's fun. My only complaint with it is Carson Daly.
<iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/PkyiTQBUxnU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> here is a full version of the song he covered tonight at a houston even he did just a few months ago. he reminds me more of BabyFace...singer/songwriter. this guy has been around for awhile. he was signed with capital records but it didn't work out well....obviously. his latest EP is pretty good. The guy is legit. my favorite out of the bunch tonight!
Javier and Rebecca are on Team Adam. After they select teams, the coaches have to vote off four of their team members, is that correct? I would rather have the audience vote off the singers. The singers picking their coach is odd. It should be the first chair that spins around. I also think there needs to be partitions between the coaches (until they spin around). Carson also needs to be on stage to direct the coaches's comments. Maybe it was editing, but Christina was commenting on singers she didn't pick. Overall, comments were on the same level as Simon Cowell's; but they will need to get more critical.
I missed about the first 20 to 25 minutes, but from what I saw, I really liked this show a lot. I think I am going to like it more than AI (which I haven't really been watching in the last couple of weeks).
The third member of Team Adam (country singer guy) is from TX. I think they are re-airing the show tonight, same time (8 PM). Rebecca sings around the 1:17 mark (or 9:17).
I watched Javier Colon's and the guy who did rascal flatts. Both did a great job. I did notice that both Ceelo and Adam around at the same time ten seconds in, Christina spun towards the latter half and the country music guy almost begrudging spun around at the end of both songs. If that's a consistent pattern something needs to be changed. Solid show otherwise.
watched the show. Carson Daly sucks, is annoying, and can't say things like "I know where you've been. I've bartended all those dive bars" when he's been on MTV since 1988 or whatever. Singing part is cool, but even more than on Idol, I want them to just get to the singing part. They're not doing a good job of building anyone's story or personality, so I don't think they should try at this point. Find some other filler or do a better job I also don't like listening to Cee Lo be such a BSer. He can't "feel the love emanating out of your voice immediately" from everyone. It's really just annoying hearing them be to sales-pitchy to the singers. If they were more straight up judging or restricted to 10 seconds or something, that would be fine. As is, too much sales. Of course, this format is only for the first 2 shows I think, and then after they all have 8 on their team, the format will change and maybe the non-singing will suck less. Overall, it's just clear that Fox/Idol has does this for a long, long time...and their experience shows in the quality of the production/everything besides the singing parts
I think Levine was too careful initially and didnt have enough members on his team, so towards the end he started to shadow Cee-lo, since cee-lo can more directly compete with him due to their style of singing and gender. He was trying to make sure the singers couldn't use the "well he turned before you" argument. I do agree with the comment that the coach who turns first should automatically get the singer...i think when more than one coach turns, one or more may hold back their recruiting, if they don't like the look of the singer. I think the partitions may isolate some of the fans in attendance though.
Ok, just finished watching. Adam's team is absolutely stacked so far. I hope things even out next week. He and Blake are slick salesmen. Cee-Lo and Christina are pretty much getting by on their reputation alone. I'm looking forward to seeing them coach. Also, I'm going to be watching Christina Aguilera videos all day. Shes so dang good.
Checked out the premiere, I enjoyed it. Blake and Adam are charmers. In regards to the CA weight gain post, yeah, she has added a few pounds. Still very pretty, does love her makeup though. How old is she? 30? Time isn't going to let her/any of us, look like she did in 1999, when she was 19-20ish.
I watched it and enjoyed it. My only gripe was that it moved a little slow. They only got in 14 singers in 2 hours. The dramatic shots of the coaches holding their hands over the buzzer got a little old as well. Those are just nit picks, though. Overall, it was entertaining and the talent was great.
