    Hornets with an almost-perfect quarter.

Imagine if the Hornets still had Darren Collison, to give Paul breathers.

    :O

It's clearly affecting his mobility on both ends of the floor. Ariza broke him down off the dribble and racked up an easy bucket early in the 1st quarter, and then moments later, Kobe overextended on helpside and couldn't get back to Ariza in a timely manner, who ended up nailing a 3. He's been a non-factor on offense (didn't even attempt a single shot in 8 minutes of action), as well.

    Shooting 13/16 will do that.

Kobe is trying to cruise and save himself for later. How long can he do that?

Exactly, the haters are nowhere to be found in this thread and in the post-season in general when Ariza always brings it.

Tell it to that hater larsv8. He's been noticeably absent in this thread.

LOL @ Paul trying to throw it up at mid court after the foul.

while ariza is good, he is not what we needed with kmart coming in. Courtney Lee is a better fit for what we needed.

Having the best point guard in the league on his team is doing wonders for Trevor Ariza. I still cringe when he dribbles the ball, he holds it too far away and needs to bring it in closer for a tighter dribble.

you mean the rockets don't need a starting defending small forward with k-mart coming in but rather a backup SG?

Can't believe the Hornets aren't capitalizing with Gasol, Kobe and Bynum sitting on the bench.

Not including this game, Ariza is 23 for 58 overall (.396) and is 2 for 10 from 3 point land.

Hardly a major leap from the postseason. Of course, he has played so far this game, and I don't hold that against him. Let's see him keep this up.

We had Battier, and we needed instant energy off the bench.

did you see what he did with kobe and paul and then with us where he had neither. He can never be the first option on a team. which is why we traded him he wanted to be first option on offense and there was no way that was going to happen in the next season.

Hornets need to start taking better care of the ball. They did this in their last loss, carelessly passing through 3 defenders.

Refs are always on the side of the Lakers at Staples Center because of the crowd.
