Don't look now but Memphis is up on the 3-1. And the clearly look better than the Spurs. LA will probably beat the hornets. But we are better than that Hornets team.

In my opinion the best team in the west right now is the Thunder. My prediction the The Thunder vs the Heat in the finals. Does anybody not think we might have a chance to beat the thunder in a 7 game series. I think we can. With our heart and determination I think we can.

Just think if we didn't give Memphis Battier they would have lost a few more games. They got a great team player a glue guy and we got Thabeet and a 2099 first round pick.

Yeah we got better after the trade but everybody on the team was so stressed out about the trade deadline that was were most of the problem lies.

We have a bunch of assets and not a team. Adelman was trying to instill confidence in his players and Management was slapping in the face. We had too many wings and they brought in T-Will and everyone new he was a problem child. If Morey wants to take risks take risks on character.

I'm just thinking Morey traded us out of the playoffs and then let go of the coach that could have got us there.

MIAMI vs Houston. Yeah it was a longshot but everyone from Houston knows that's what we are about. How disappointing

Had Rudy Gay not been injured we would probably be down 1-3 to the Spurs...

I think we're better than New Orleans, but not even close to Memphis. The Grizzlies are significantly better than we are right now, and with the way they are playing, we might have stolen a game or two, but would definitely lose in a 7-game series against them.

With New Orleans, even though I think we're better than them, fact is that with our season on the line, we lost to a bad Sacramento team and followed it up by losing to New Orleans. If there was one big disappointment for me this season, it was the number of times we lost to bad teams.

The Grizzlies are clearly better than the Rockets right now, with or without Battier. And while the Rockets may be deeper than the Hornets, we have no one who can touch CP3 the way he has been playing. I love the Rockets, but it is hard to watch the playoffs and believe that the Grizz and Hornets don't deserve to be there.

To top it all off, the Rockets only improved enough to get within sniffing distance of the playoffs AFTER the mid-season trades were made, so I'm not sure what point is being made here.

Definitely not better than memphis. I mean, we could never match up with those guys and the nba is all about match ups. I just remember them pounding the rockets into submission every game during the season. =/ <-----insert rolling eyes.

Seriously though, It's a shame that the bad start to the season really killed the playoffs. But a lot of respect to Memphis for not losing focus as the season concluded.

English is not my first language, so maybe I am not understanding thread or possible sarcasm in thread…

    But what I gather is…

--Houston would have made playoffs if there was never trade talks and they kept Shane Battier.
--After getting into playoffs, Houston could beat Spurs, Thunder, then Lakers to go onto finals.
--Good coaching and heart could overcome three rounds of superstars.

If this is right…wow! You can disagree with moves Morey makes, but to say he kept us from possible finals appearance is reaching very far! I do not like firing of Adelman and certain Morey moves either, but I do believe one thing: Morey is trying to bring championship that you and other Old Mans will live to see. See what Morey does from now on to accomplish this, rather than wish for nearly impossible thing of past.

It's all about matchups and we don't matchup well with any playoff team except Memphis.

Memphis matches up great against SA because of their Bigs and quickness down the court. They score the most points via turnover than any other NBA team. We have no Bigs so we lose PERIOD

NOLA has a Superstar PG and PG happens to be the kink in LA's Armor. NOLA also has a decent shot blocker and great perimeter defense. Lowry is great be he isn't CP3. Our perimeter defense blows and wasn't that great with Battier either.

    Thanks for the laughs.

In one sentence you say we are better than NOH and another you say we are not a team but a bunch of assets.

You think playing better after the all-star break had nothing to do with moving Chase into the starting line-up, tightening the rotation with Courtney Lee and better defining peoples roles (as mentioned by Kevin Martin) due to the trade?

Things that make you go hmmmmmm.

Why didn't all the trade talk keep New York and Denver from playing good enough to make the play-offs?

Battier was not playing well with us. He is no longer a rocket. LET IT GO!

....AND to your question of being better than Memphis and New Orleans, yes, when healthy.

Though New Orleans may have some help from the refs given their owners are the NBA!

    not even close.

Rockets were overachieved because of Adelman.

The talent level of Rockets is below mediocre.

It's unreasonable to expect that we would have done better if we retained Battier down the stretch, hell, facts could be pointed towards doing worse.

It's clear that Memphis is a superior team but it's also clear that they would be our own preferred playoff foe. If I were to bet on that, I'd put my money on us.

We were better than the NOLA that struggled to close-out the season and I dare say we still are. Yes they have Carlton, decent bigs and very good defense but we were better everywhere else. While it's true NOLA deserves some ****ing credit, the Laker were caught sleeping once again.

He's probably talking about our .600+ winning percentage when our core of Hayes and Lowry were healthy and starting.
