And Durant nails a 3...Thunder are so young, they will win this series but they need to improve their decision making or it may cost them these playoffs at some point. OKC will finish if off in 5.
Westbrook seems to yell at everyone on his team when things tighten up. Does he know he has Durant on his team?
About the series? Even with Honey Badger going hero mode, the Thunder lost by only 3. I doubt any Thunder fans are even a little worried.
I don't know how many games I've seen where Westbrook chucks up a gamelosing 3 at the end of the game. Great player but tries to play hero too much. Durant hit 2 in the last 30 or so seconds, what a brainfart.
TheBillWalton: "As if focused on the verbal imagery of Tolkien, Westbrook summoned his inner Smaug, greedily hording the shots of Middle Earth for himself!"
Nah not this series even though it is a goaltending call away from being 2-2. I mean the friction between Durant and Westbrook. I missed the first half but didn't they get into it in the 1st half too? I don't think it is that big of a deal because things like this will happen but I think it's worth keeping an eye on.
I wouldn't read too much into the friction in the game, things are said in the heat of the moment but at the end of the day I think they will be all right. They don't seem like the kind of people who will let it bother them too much RW should and probably will realize he chucked waaaay too much today and will defer more imo.
zach harper of espn's true hoop network, stated in one of the chats last week that "westbrooks growing ego was hurting the team" according to teammates of his who would only talk about the matter "off the record". I wasnt sure how much credence to give to the statement as A, i'm not sure how credible bloggers like Zach Harper are in comparison to establish writers/reporters like Adande, Bucher, stein, hollinger etc and B, information gleaned from "off the record" comments/sources are wildly inconsistent in terms of reliability, accuracy and authenticity, depending much on the unkown source and thus on the credibility of the writer who brings it to bear. In light of this game, perhaps there's a whole lot of truth to Harpers statement.
