I didn't realize that the Jazz obtained the Nets' unprotected first round pick. That's terrible for us.

it's not as bad as you think seeing as the draft depth this year seems to be limited

I fully expect Utah to heavily lean towards taking Jimmer, but with their OWN pick, not the Nets' pick.

If they're picking at, say, #3 (the Nets' pick) and #12 (their own pick), I'm pretty sure they could wait and take Jimmer at #12.

For some reason the Jazz picking Jimmer seems a little incestuous to me. (I'm a BYU fan.)

With Hayward, Favors, and then two more lotto picks, that's 4 in 2 years. That's how you rebuild.

Of course, the Rockets have that too, with Thabeet, Hill, Williams, and Patterson...so there's that. ;)

That, and the Jazz will likely have yet ANOTHER 1-2 lottery picks in 2012 with the GSW (top-7 protected) pick (also from New Jersey in the Deron Williams trade) and their own (if they miss the playoffs again next year).

The Knicks have the 17th pick. If Kemba Walker slips to them, I'll be pissed.

    Why?

First of all, Kemba won't be on the board at #17.

Second, that is the Knicks' pick. Where would you have hoped they'd be picking? I, for one, was glad to have had the Rockets in the chase for the #8 seed in the West until the last few days of the season. Had Houston beaten out Memphis, THEY would be picking at #17 after swapping their own pick (likely #19) with the Knicks' pick.

First off, players slip all the time. Ivring and Knight will be the first points off the board. After the top 5, teams in the6 to 16 spots already have the pg position set. Maybe the Bobcats take him at 9, but if they don't he could slip.

And secondly I know its the Knicks pick. The reason why I don't want them getting Walker is it could make them a better team and that means the draft pick that we get from them next year might not be as high as we hope. So I'm basically rooting against anything that will make them better.

If he slipping, Rockets can catch him easily at 14. If he is better than Dragic, we take him.

A massive load of pgs is the last thing we need and it will just set the team back. Just look at the Pacers and Sixers. They draft the same position for a few years and it has set them back a lot.

Certainly didn't hurt when we drafted brooks, Ppatt. Drafting success is literally the same as always taking the BPA

WHAT massive load??? The last time I watched the Rockets play, they needed to play Goran Dragic all 48 minutes (and all 53 minutes the game before that) because of one injury. Having a third PG is not a "massive load." It's actually somewhat preferable, especially when both Lowry (stockiness/toughness) and Dragic (height) may be capable of guarding SGs in certain matchups.

A Kemba/Lowry backcourt, for example, is certainly not something that would be out of the question in certain game situations.

I would be shocked if for some reason he slipped all the way to 14, but stranger things have happened.

I wouldnt say he will be better or worse than Dragic, but a much different player. You can compare him to Brooks quite a bit, where he has the ability to break down defenses on offense with quickness, and a shot worth contesting, but even at his height, he has a very strong build and should be able to guard some SG's in this league.

I think he would be a nice pickup at the 14th spot, however I expect them to end up with an international big at that pick instead. They spent alot of time overseas this season scouting european players, and I have a feeling the front office has their sites set on quite a few players overseas.

Sorry if it's been asked, but I'm assuming we lost the swap for 2011 with NY? Or does it get rolled over to another year?

The Rockets's pick is better than the Knick's, so they will not swap.

The swap was a one time only deal.
