I won't gloat about the Spurs era ending. I don't feel I have the right. Because despite the fact I truly believe Hakeem was a far greater player than Duncan, they've still got four rings to our two. And our era ended in what? 97? 98? And we're still not back?

No. Hats off to the Spurs organization for being a small market team that has been a perennial threat to win it all for the last dozen years or so.

I JUST WISH THE ROCKETS HAD A GREAT GM LIKE THE GRIZZ DO. DIRECTIONLESS IS THE WORD I WOULD USE IN OUR PERSONNEL ACQUISITIONS IN THE PAST 4 YEARS. WE REBUILT THE STINKING SACRAMENTO KINGS HERE IN HOUSTON AND HAD AN EQUALLY FUTILE RECORD.

GO GRIZZ BEAT THE DAMN DUURRRRSSSS

I was trolling the Spurs board and this is what some "fan" said about Tim Duncan:

"Duncan looks like some vegetable eating dinosaur."

Dude they tanked to get Duncan.

And I know we tanked to get Dream but we were truly a bad team then.

The Spurs on the hand were already playoff team when Pop gamed the system.

Cant tip my hat to the fat cheating to get fatter

This will be one of my favorite playoffs ever to see the Lakers; Spurs; Knicks; Mavs; and Magic all go down in the first round.

    So beautiful to watch.

    Take that Lord Sternanus

I can and I wish we would.

Besides, if you want to live in a fantasy world where drafting Duncan was all it took for them to win four championships, so be it. But I recognize they did many other things right in that time to make that happen (and they had to to win twice as many championships with Duncan as we managed with Dream). There was nothing unfair about them drafting Manu and Parker. They didn't get a star like Gasol handed to them like the Lakers. They've consistently been one of the best run franchises in the NBA under Pop. They have deserved all of their success.

Randolph to me is a borderline Superstar but no quite there, they have none but the biggest difference between the Rox and Grizz is that big 7 footer in the middle. If the Rox had finalized that Chandler deal, the Rox might be on the verge of playing in the 2nd rd.

Makes me want to vomit seeing how bad the Grizzlies are beating the Spurs and remembering how we did the Grizzlies during the season.

Look, Ill admit that they have made good front office moves but your living in a fantasy world if you think Duncan isn't 90% of the reason for their longterm success

For example, lets say the Thunder lose in the next round with the team they have.

Next year, Durant gets hurt, they start losing and then six other guys get "hurt" and they play most of the season with scrubbs (ie., "tanking")

They end up with the worst record in the NBA and get the no. 1 pick.

What do you think the rest of the NBA would say after that??

You think everybody would be saying "great move" and "tipping their hat"

OF COURSE NOT -- Folks will be screaming bloody murder

Maybe a good comparison, I always thought PPat was like Antwan Jamison.

Randolph has about 25 pounds on PPat.

    Wow, you're hopeless.

    A. Even if that call went the other way, there's still an excellent chance that the Thunder would have won game 1.

    B. The Thunder destroyed the Nuggets in game 2. If the Nuggets were that "psychologically" weak that they couldn't overcome that call from game 1, rather than actually play with a chip on their shoulder and get extra motivation from it, they hardly deserve to win anyways.

    C. The Thunder won game 3 in DENVER without any meaningfully controversial call. You're telling me by this point the Nuggets still hadn't gotten over it? Even on their home floor?

Some people will find any excuse to avoid admitting when they're wrong. Then again, maybe you're just a troll.

Fact: The Thunder are a better team than the Nuggets.

    Answer this question

    Be honest

The Spurs won 61 games this year--the best team in the West

The Grizz barely won 46 and are the eighth seed

Be honest -- do you really think the Grizz are better than the Spurs???

If you answer the question honestly you can realize how bad it is for the home team to lose game 1

Actually a lot of people did. Playoffs all about match-ups. I always though a team with a beast front court would give Spurs a lot of trouble. Look at the way Stat destroyed Duncan last year in the playoffs.

And I believe the Grizzlies believed that too, because they lost the last two games to match up with the Spurs.
