The GARM used to have more native English speakers than native Mandarin/Cantonese speakers. Not that there's anything wrong with that. The site also used to be called ClutchCity.net, and there was a secret forum where Rockets players would regularly post. Dan Langhi was quite a character.
there was actually content worth reading before..and you could ask things in the hangout and get relevant answers. now it's a mess. not anyones fault. the crowd changed.
That still happens fairly often and it's quite heartwarming to see honest and sincere advice being given.
I've been here longer than you D: Too bad none of my posts are nearly as insightful as yours. WOW I just realized my 10 years are about to hit too.
I started lurking here in 04' and joined in 06'. As far as the crowd changing... no. There are always the sarcastic, smart-ass posters on the BBS. However, there are far more random r****ds on the BBS now-a-days...
The only thing I can think of that really changed was the GARM during game days. With streaming links now, the chat room also has no reason for PBP. I remember way back when rockHead would do the PBP, and I began filling in for him helping him out with it. It's been a long time since I've done that.....or been in the chat room.
