As far as the Civil Rights Movement goes I was referring to the violence that caused that response. You say that realistically speaking it is a man because of technicals such as their chromosomes... if that is the attitude today why do they have sex changes?

    Thanks Obama.

I like to think most of us do, but there's also the bystander effect at play here. It's more of a human nature condition and less of a American or Western culture condition.

The best we can do is realize we're not slaves to our animal mind and can choose to do something that goes against our instincts (and lay off the judgmental arm chair quarterbacking while we're at it).

    Rockets River,

Someone said that was a fake seizure? Who said that? Did someone at the scene say it? I'm just curious. Won't argue about it. btw: it looks like he got a big chunk of hair pulled out of his head, too. That must be very painful.

    Also,
I'm fine with your take on the bathroom situation. But I can see a tranny being very scared to go into a man's restroom (for fear of being beaten to a pulp by a homophobe), and probably warned to use woman's restrooms by other trannies. You say the event doesn't happen if he doesn't go in there. Actually, I think it doesn't happen if he doesn't get recognized. He probably was recognized by someone in that McDs from his "man" days.

A woman is as capable of molesting your child. Oh snap there goes your argument.

Thank goodness you're not writing our laws! A man going into a woman's restroom isn't a criminal act. If a father takes his daughter into the women's restroom, should we convict him and throw him in jail?

I would imagine that they have sex changes because they feel like they were "born in the wrong body" or something like that.

Perhaps they weren't or perhaps they were but that doesn't change the fact they are what they are. Genes might be a "technical" issue to some, but they are the foundation of who we are and who our children will be.

Also we live in a politically correct society and there is a demand for such services so there will be a provider. However none of this changes the face that such operations do not address the fundamental difference between the genders.....so they are still what they were born as. They just appear to be a member of the other gender.

Well, it looks like you are willing to come out swinging a lot faster than I am. I really don't see any reason to have a fist fight with someone unless I am fearing for my life. Sometimes bad things happen during fist fights, like someone getting killed, so I think fighting should only happen if you are in fear of losing your life. I'm getting rather old, so I have enough injuries without being involved in any fights. I know we all want to be men and stand up for ourselves and our family and everything, but I would rather avoid confrontation and not make a situation worse.

Oh, and by the way, a couple of years ago I was at a bar/restaurant and I accidentally walked into the ladies room by mistake. A couple ladies were rather surprised to see me in there, but were very polite and helpful in helping me find the Mens room. Looking back now I guess I was lucky that they didn't try and kick me in the head. I just wish people weren't always in such a hurry to start throwing punches, but I guess that's the world we live in.

This is not true. There are XXYs that defy definition. You are ignorant on this topic. I've repeated this about 4 times in this thread. This is not a choice. Some transgenders have no actual dominate gender at birth; they exhibit both gender equally.

    Read this:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intersexuality

Some doctors will tell parents at the child's birth that their child is both male and female and they can choose their gender. They get counseling for their decision, and usually always choose boy ... which often manifests later into the child choosing the other gender. They are transgender from birth, and later in life they are choosing their gender instead of their parents.

XXY's are phenotypically male, they just have atrophied testes which leads to a lack of masculinization . You're thinking of XY androgen insensitivity. Literally, they are females on the exterior and you wouldn't know that they were carrying testes until you were treating them for missed period or if they were to have a hernia.

Sex and Gender are two different things.

Yeah, not my field, could be confusing things. mind explaining this more about how Sex and Gender aren't the same? Is that about genes versus presentation. Maybe just provide a link to read. I recall a Frontline with doctors advising parents they could pick the gender. What would you say those babies were?

And if you have time, mind explaining the first paragraph of the "Intersex" link I providing from wikipedia

sex is biological, gender is how you identify yourself...so they do have a choice with gender, not with sex. Not sure about everything else. It may be one of the two Azadre mentioned, maybe the doctors felt letting them adopt a gender they indentified with was better than defining their gender based on their sex.

I'm pretty sure transgender feels more at ease in a women bathroom than in a men. They would probably get more beat down if they use the men washroom dressing like that.

The problem is that these uneducated b****es doesn't understand transgender or gay are ****ing harmless. Why did you think the transgender couldn't defend herself if she/he was truly a man?

Maybe idiots need to get some education on transgender before discriminating them.
