Of course not....But it aint because he played in another era or scored more points...Its because he was clearly better period.....Whats point are you tryin to make??...Because that was a bad attempt at an analogy
Yeah its I guess because his career aint over....Didnt I mention that a few minutes ago???....Im guessing 3.2 blocks cant be done by Dwight right??....Its annoyong because you stuck in neutral...I dont use stats because folks like Vinny Testervarde threw for 40,000 yards but would you put him among the 50 greatest QB's....maybe I am off the subject but you get the point...Then again probably not..... 3.2 blocks for 10 years...You dont think thats can be done by Dwight of all people!!! Right!!!!
Do I really need to keep piling on evidence even though they are clear as day? Dwight's best blocking seasons, he had 2.9 and 2.8 blocks per game. Dwight has never averaged more than 3 blocks per game, so why the hell do you all of a sudden think he could block 3.2 shots in the next 10 years? Ok this is getting ridiculous, I hope you're not trolling.
My point is that the "evidence" you use for Dwight is his projected career numbers as the reason for him being great enough to be in the top 5. By using that same logic, you would have to put Kobe ahead of Jordan since Kobe's career numbers will surpass Jordan's. It was actually a very apt analogy. You just didn't understand it.
ok I didnt understand it ...Now that I do , its still is a bad attempt....Because my argument is against career numbers passing anyone else's(in the case of alltimers)....I brought up these "unrealistic stats" as Flam calls them to make him happy....Apparently he still aint happy with it
If my math is correct (again Jack Yates education)...... 2.9 aint too far away from 3.2....maybe a block more in 1/3 or the games...You're right thats too much for Howard to overcome
Except 2.9 is Dwight's BEST shot blocking season. Dwight not only has to beat his season best, but keep up the pace for 10 years His shot blocking has declined from 2.9 to 2.8 to 2.4...... over the past 3 years too. So is it all of a sudden going to jump to 3.2 and stay there for 10 years? Come on, this is ridiculous at this stage. The evidence is clear as day What you are saying is the same as saying Aaron Brooks will average 20 points for the next 10 seasons because he average 19.6 points a game. You are saying Dwight will beat his season best and keep it for 10 years? Ridiculous, you can't honestly be serious.
So you dont think a 7 ft athletic freak with no equal cant average 3 blocks a game for the next ten years?? Aaron Brooks??...thats what Im saying??....again you got me....what the hell was I thinking???.....Flam you alright with me except the overexaggerations!!!....
Not when he has never done it before, no. What I said with Brooks wasn't an overexaggeration. Dwight Howard has never done X before in 7 seasons , but because he has done something close to X, he will suddenly do X for the next seasons. There is no logical connection. You really have no evidence at all, I'm sorry.
Im assuming playing 11 more years and averaging the 2.895 blocks he's been averaging is out the question....Youre a very concise person for no reason...Just tell me he's not gonna play 10 more years at a high level and I MIGHT back down from my boasts..... But to throw worthless " 3.2 to 2.9" ratios at me is making your lectures seem over the top....But do your thang mane!!! No disrespect
You have to look at it from flamingdts' point of view. in your projection, you not only have howard performing a statistical feat that he's never accomplished, you have him performing this feat for the next 10 years. you really dont think that sounds stupid?
Why are you beating this to the death. You have obviously lost the argument about the stats, but you continue to milk it. Yes Howard is an athletic freak and a good shot blocker, is it likely he will have keep this athleticism into his 30's, maybe. But can he maintain a 3.2 block average (when his best was 2.9) for 10 years without missing one game and until he is 35? unlikely to impossible. I can see your argument. Howard is only 25, and is no doubt the most dominating center in the league today, he just had his best season so far with great numbers. But already projecting him to be top 3 centers of all time is ridiculous. Especially you are projecting him to keep up some godly number for a period of 10+ years without losing his athleticism.
I’m sorry but your are getting annoying. flamingdts clearly showed you that Howard has to do something he has never done before for the next 10 years (or 11) and you still refuse to see sense. That is like saying How many players do you know were able to have 3 blocks per game at 36? Especially athletic freaks like Dwight age very well. Even Hakeem came down to earth after he was 33. Trying to say that Howard might be top 5 all time at the end of his career is stretching it, since I really doubt that will happen. But now you are arguing that he can be the all time block leader, that really shows us that you are delusional or just trolling. It is sad that I cannot rep flamingdts, because he has spend way to much time in trying to argue with you.
All I can say is time will tell.....At least I talk about a player with HOF potential, some of the folks yall (not necessarily you) talk up is ridiculous..like Thabeet, T-Will, Whiteside........But I forgot , yall call that "potential" and "upside"...And Im delusional!!!....
sure it does if it were someone not of Howard's ability...If he hasnt average 3 blocks yet, then I guess he cant do it...
I'm not saying he can't do it, but if he does, it would be his season high. Probably even his MVP winning season. But to keep up that pace for 10 years without missing a single game? That isn't realistic. Just look at Michael Jordan, he averaged around 30-37 points in a lot of seasons, but he never managed to average 40 points. He averaged 37 points in a season once, and that's only 3 points away from 40 right? So without hindsight, after watching Jordan average 37 points in his third year in the league, why can't he drop 40 points a season and keep up that pace for 10 years? It's the same concept for Howard. He is so close to averaging 3.2 blocks per game, but yet so far. Now can you imagine him keeping up that pace for 10 years?
