We took them to 7 games without any of our bigs, remember? They had Gasol and Odom and Bynum then too.

but we can score so much better than new orleans and we always keep up and PLAY HARD. Only Landry and Ariza came to play tonight, no one else with any fire or energy.

That look on Chris Paul's face said it all. He'll be jumping ship once he's a free agent

I think the Thunder can give them a good run for their money in the west. As much as I hate to say it Dallas has a shot too, they have decent size also. Maybe Memphis also can beat them. They are far from playing out of their minds right now.

Maybe OKC if Westbrook keeps hitting his jumper, since they have legit bigs to match up. Maybe Miami if they can get past Boston. I actually think they have the best shot because that match up very well with LA. The Mavs have the talent but not sure about the heart (mainly Dirk).*

CP3 has to be in "god mode" for the Hornets to even have a chance.

This game shows why Kobe is still an elite player in the L...The guy simply has the mental capabilities to bring it when needed. And  at the dunk..That was some nasty stuff

They're missing David West right about now. Landry's defensive rebounding leaves something to be desired.

C'mon who really thought that the Hornets stood a chance? It was fun when they won the first game because let's face it we all want the Lakers to lose but that's over and done with. I wouldn't be surprised if the Hornets didn't win another game.

Another solid game by Ariza. He seems to have the ability to play well when it counts the most (i.e. the post-season). Another good game by Landry too.

the hornets bench produced zilch. that won't get it done.

chris paul really needs to ballhog. but he's so unselfish.

if pau and kobe show up, the hornets have zero chance even if paul is in god mode. the hornets are simply overmatched.

This is so true, nobody thought they were even going to win a game coming in to the series. I think they will snatch the next one but the lakers will win out after that.

Drew wasn't in this condition then. Pretty big omission to make if you saw him rule all over Okafor in the 1st half.

They're a slow, plodding team w/ a 36 yo starting point. Playing these teams that have a waterbug as their best player makes them have to converge and rotate on D, working harder than they'd have to against a team that would like to try to bang in the halfcourt. It's not a coincidence that they got confused AFTER Yao went down.

Paul's in a bad spot because the rest of the team is too dependent on him setting them up AND they're poor offensively in general. He needs to both score big and assist big.

    Agree w/ the Miami point.

Mavs don't have the toughness. That talk about Chandler is exaggerated noise. He's a weakside shotblocker and thin in the wallet.

True, I really did think they were gonna miss the playoffs but they showed up, but yeah they are toasted.
