    Come on, Pugs. FB is a tool to use. It also has the capability to turn users into tools. Depends on the user. It is what it is and not using it doesn't make you any wiser.

    re: thread. Find a tree, a rope and a couple of chairs...and call it a day.

    Thanks for your input, it means a lot to me. My apologies for bringing it up, yet again, in a thread about Facebook. If you don't like what I have to say, then please....put me on ignore.

    Let's see....I mentioned it here, on another Facebook thread about a month ago, and probably on the coupon thread since you need a Facebook account to get some of the freebies. I guess I did overdo it just a bit. I'll go back to being happy I don't have one and enjoying my privacy while you continue to insult "normal facebook users" by calling them slackers. Oh, and don't forget to add me to your ignore list.

    All of these people are trash, through and through, including the victim. Nobody deserves to be murdered, especially in such a horrific manner, but it's hard to sympathize to someone of such low character.

    You misunderstood what I was saying. I wasn't trying to say all facebook users are slackers, I meant to say that most users don't waste all that much time on it, so surely there is some middle ground you can find between your vehement campaign against it and the assumption of using large chunks of time unwisely on it.

    what happened to that kid was sick.

    reading their "conversation" on facebook also made me sick...

    personally I cannot stand ANYONE who whines or b****es about personal issues via status update. GOD we live in an age of attention whoring morons.

    Kind of my initial reaction to it. No way does this kid deserve it, but this is what happens when really trashy, low class people are left to their own devices. The victim was hanging out in the same peer group.

    Uneducated people should stay off Facebook. I only read a few lines from that spoiler of the status update before I stopped due to the sheer idiocy of its content.

    Facebook has a negative reputation because so many have access to it nowadays, and they spend an inordinate amount of time on it. When it was exclusive to people with certain .edu addresses, it seemed to be better. Now that white trash people can use it, this can happen.

    Facebook is only taken seriously by teens, middle aged women and pansies who can't say what they want to in real life. Don't make this into a college elitist argument because the myspace generation flocked over, social media is used the most heavily by bored office workers (normally middle aged females) and teens/college students glorifying their lives on it. These come from all backgrounds, races, shapes and colors.

    People have such huge egos that they cant live with the fact they ended up getting their ass kicked, so they come back and shoot up the other person.
    It used to be like you said Vanity, fight your problems win or lose, and take your consequences like a man.

    losing a fist fight could escalate into more fist fights . . but definately a high level of embarrassment that could make you a social pariah . . OMG!!!

    I didn't read through the updates [I could not view them]
    but
    I think the reality is . . .these kind of things will happen.
    Facebook or not . . . People will FIND WAYS to be evil to each other
    and
    judging by your commentary . . .this may have happened anyway
    just may not have escalated as fast

    That is the thing with UltraFast technology
    yea. . .you get to communicate faster. .. but what you communicate doesn't necessarily change
    The escalation is just slower
    and
    in the case of Facebook . .maybe the escalation is not as public
    which I think is the real issue in some of these things

    The ideal of . .. SAVING FACE.
