I don't think you can call a restaurant "fast food" unless they have a drive-thru. Five guys should be compared to Fuddruckers, not Whataburger. And Fuddruckers >> Five Guys. PS: Steak-n-Shake sucks. I've yet to try In-n-Out though.
then you should order the 4x4 http://www.in-n-out.com/secretmenu.asp I'm in Houston but whenever I got to LA, I grab an In n Out burger. The ground beef simply tastes like they just butchered the cow in the kitchen that same day has any one tried umami burger in LA. I tried it. They were awsome but what's the "fifth taste"? http://umamiburger.com/
I did not know they did not have drive-thru but Fuddruckers is a sit down restaurant, if anything, it should be compared to something like Smashburger and Fudruckers has terrible burgers
They put your order in a brown bag whether you're taking it to go or eating in the restaurant. I don't really consider it fast food, but I guess I can see the argument for it. Agree to disagree about Fuddruckers. If I'm paying $8-$10 for a burger, fries and soda, give me Fuddruckers over Five Guys any day of the week.
My lone experience says Five Guys sucks. There were 3 of us, and we all hated it. Try not to get too excited.
Eaten at both recently and I have to agree with this. My most recent Five Guys experience was way better than my previous trips but I still think their burgers are overrated. It's a really messy burger and the flavor really doesn't make it distinct from any other burger IMO. I really like Fuddrucker's bread as well.
Im in the category that doesnt think 5 Guys is anything special at all. I feel completely unhealthy walking away from there. Greasy, overloaded fries...and the burger is nothing special. Ill take Smashburger, Whataburger, Fuddruckers, and In N Out over it.
I tried Umami Burger last weekend in Hollywood. Got to give it a good hearty "meh". The burger was pretty good...but I was not blown away by it. Worth a try to anyone who has heard good things about it...I just didn't think it lived up to the GQ/Food Network hype that my wife built up about the place. I tried the Manly burger...which came with honey mustard...which is something I'm not too sure belongs on a "manly" burger. (not a honey mustard fan either). Also...special note...if you do decide to go there, make sure to drop some weight before hand...the bathrooms at the Hollywood location were horrendous.
Five Guys burgers are greasy as hell. Tried it out 3 times and disappointed me each time. Not goin back there again.
the fifth taste, "umami" is translated to mean "savoriness" sweet salty sour bitter savory it's like the secret that all chefs try to infuse into their foods. this umamiburger craze (GQ's Burger of the Year?) got me out to one of their locations. i had the manly burger (with bacon lardons) and the port & stilton burger. it is trendy and expensive, but damn tasty... I have been to three out of five locations and they all offer something different, which is kind of cool.
thanks I liked the port burger too escpecially the blue cheese. the one with truffle oil was good too. have you tried slater's 50/50?
The their website, the Five Guys near Baybrook Mall has been "Coming Soon!" for MONTHS now. how long must I wait
i thought it was hilarious that it was one of the featured apps when your brought up the Android Market I like the place, but don't go there often, I may go like once every 2-3 months. I prefer Smash Burger along with Fuddruckers. Probably the worst is Red Robin since they're overpriced, but try to entice u with unlimited steak fries.
theres a five guys being built pretty close to the carl's jr, here in missouri city, and its across the street from my neighborhood. pretty psyched man!
you guys have terrible taste in burgers if you think this place is good, the one in Austin sucks anyways
