both teams finally cooled down from the first game. but the thunder are just too deep and too good defensively. the game will be competitive, but the thunder will win this in 5. but every game will be tough.
If the Nuggets start focusing on defense they can win. Harrington has brought them back into the game.
Very true. Shouldn't have taken that 3 just now. What he does is make the game personal when he gets upset.
This is what happens when the rest of the Thunder team steps up. Just too many weapons. When you commit to defender Durant and Westbrook, it leaves the rest of the team wide open, but if you don't commit to Durant and Westbrook, they'll put your team in foul trouble and drop 30 points.
I just got home, and noticed that JR Smith has only logged 6 minutes... for a team that's in desperate need of offensive firepower from the perimeter, Karl's management of the rotation makes no sense. Gallo and Wil C are both struggling tonight in heavy minutes, and I realize that Smith wasn't torching the nets during his brief run on the floor, but the dude's notorious for providing explosive offense. He has unlimited range, and in terms of finishing at the basket, he's superior to any other perimeter option Karl has at his disposal. Why is he in the doghouse?
From watching this game most of the way through, the Nuggets dug themselves too deep of a hole. The Lawson-Felton backcourt actually got them back in the game. The key play was when they got it down to 10 early in the 4th and then promptly let OKC go on another run. This one is over but I feel that this series will be going 7. I actually like both of these teams but would really like to see Denver advance simply because they would have to be the biggest cinderella in these playoffs.
Oh and count me as another that is in love with Nene and would love to see him with our Rockets. And I know that Westbrook is more of a PG but damn I would love to see him in a backcourt with Lowry. Could you imagine a Rockets team that had this starting 5: Lowry Westbrook Budinger Hayes/Patterson Nene This is assuming that Kevin Martin and Luis Scola was traded to get Westbrook and Nene. Granted those deals would never happen but still that starting 5 I posted up above would be one that could get to the WC Finals.
Ah, appreciate the rundown. Karl's been digging the undersized backcourt of Lawson & Felton... he rolled with them down the stretch in GM 1, as well.
Not a problem. When I look at all the teams that are in the playoffs, they all pretty much have at least 1 bonafide superstar on their team except for, you guessed it, the Nuggets and probably the Grizzlies: Spurs - Duncan, Parker, Ginobli Lakers - Kobe Mavericks - Dirk Thunder - Durant, Westbrook Nuggets - maybe Nene is their best player now Blazers - was Roy but could be Aldridge; they may have a case along with Denver Hornets - CP3 Grizzlies - hard to believe that Randolph is their best player but I guess he is Bulls - Rose Heat - Wade, LBJ Celtics - their big 3 plus Rondo Magic - Dwight Hawks - Joe Johnson (?!) Knicks - Carmelo, Amare 76ers - are Elton Brand and Iguodala considered superstar players? Pacers - same question for Danny Granger? I would argue that Granger, Brand, AI, Johnson, Lamarcus Aldridge, and Randolph are all probably better than Nene even though none of those guys are superstars. Yet it shows you how good of a team they have and they also have George Karl coaching them. Hopefully, they can get back in this series now that it is going to Denver.
