His days are numbered. I feel bad for Liberon has to go from part-time coaching 1 team to another. At least Wade is there to help fill out the other coaching.. Miami Heat is probably coached 75% Wade/James Spoelstrat at best does 25%... Riley and anybody on those sidelines in this league know this..
Wow I stopped at your post knowing you'll be gettin a shellacking right about now. What a stupid thing to say. Paul Silas, Monty Willims, Bernie Bickerstaff... a whole lot more but I won't even bother to name them because this thread is stupid on so many levels. Any way I do give credit for saying what you think.
There's a bunch of coaches out there to almost not be considerable regardless of race... We have a decent group here and I think it would it takes a veteran coach to get the most out of them. I see Larry Brown and Jerry Sloan but most here chastize those names.. My title may be off but when guys like Woodson or Mike Brown get considered it's just like why? So we really do want to make it a losing upcoming season and rebuild?
A little history lesson for you. -1969 NBA Finals and 1974 NBA Finals champion -NBA All-Defensive second team (1972, 1973, 1974, 1975 and 1977) -NBA Coach of the Year Award with the Houston Rockets for the 1990-91 season, after leading the Houston Rockets to a 50-32 record. -Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame (1991) -Gold medal-winning US national team at the 1994 FIBA World Championship in Toronto, assistant coach Signed,
Really!?! As an African American, I can honestly say this is one of the stupidest, most pointless threads I have ever seen. I don't care if an African American coaches here or a Caucasian, I just want the best coach. And right now outside of a couple (Doc Rivers and maybe Avery) there aren't great African American coaches out there. I am all for fair rights, and making sure everyone gets their fair chance, but let's not go lobbying for the hiring of a certain coach just because of his skin color. But this thread still has no relevance to the Rockets situation other than "Coach" seems to be a commonly used word.
Seriously. I wish we could get Doc Rivers here. He instills the perfect kind of toughness this teams needs on defense.
Other than being wrong on so many non-basketball levels... OP is dumb because Doc Rivers and Avery Johnson are underqualified nobodies who couldn't coach their way out of a paper bag until they started riding some all-star's coattails.
And why is everyone so hard on Mike Brown? He has had one coaching job. At that job he's coached his team to the finals and also always had them playing excellent defense. Has Brown won a championship? No. Has Sloan? I'm not saying Brown is Jerry Sloan but seriously...the guy has had ONE coaching job and took that team to the finals and had a winning record during his tenure there. (.663- which is btw better than Sloans) Yet people here act like he did a HORRIBLE job. Okay he had Lebron James...alright so pretty much every successful coach is backed by a great player.
No he did not. He yelled a lot and watched from the sidelines as Lebron carried them to the finals. Key difference.
The idea that Phil didn't coach those teams is ridiculous. He actually installed an offensive scheme, something Mike Brown would faint at.
