I love Mean Larry Smith but he sucked as an interim coach for the Rockets. As for the rest I haven't seen them in action. I think Elie probably has the best temperament of the bunch. Outside of that K Smith talks a good game but I somehow don't trust him. Cassell seems like the kind of guy who would command respect. That's important but he doesn't seem to be the most cerebral of the bunch.

Personally I'm for sticking with one of the guys we already have. I know everybody talks up Elston Turner but the last preseason game before the season start Adelman was out and I thought Turner coached a pathetic game. I remember feeling that loss was terrible and feed into the start of the season when we could have easily beat Dallas. Even Martin commented on how the should have already been getting into their regular season rotations and instead the coach (Turner) was experimenting. Those were my exact sentiments at the time even before he said them.

I don't know much about Sikma but his halftime comments are usually pretty right on. Not enough to base a decision on but if he was doing what Adelman says he does with the coaches and that is rotate each ones responsibilities on setting up a game plan for defense offense subsitutions scouting etc. than he should have a pretty thorough understanding of how Adelman does things and he seems to be a better player coach kind of guy.

Basketball is so much about demanding enough respect and convincing your players to buy into a system and then letting them run that system on their own.Without to much micro managing in the end because they know what you want before they step on the floor.

I could wrong about that but I get the feeling Sikma might do that better but Turner might be better at following Morey's orders. Ooops I guess it's Turner.

I hope it's Sikma. I wish it was Paul Silas would love Scotty brooks back will take Elie or Cassell Sikma. ANd Turner wouldn't be the worst choice but not crazy about that.

Tinman, I love ya, dude -- but we can't recreate 1994 without Dream. Time to move on.

    Scotty Brooks ..
He won coach of the year last year

A disciple of Rudy T and the philosophy of Clutch City

He was on a team with Dream and he knows what a team and superstar need to do to become immortal

I want to hire the PLAYERS coached by Rudy T's disciple Scotty Brooks.

Give Adelman OKC's roster and he'd still be coaching right now in the playoffs.

Would love to see an alien on the sidelines coaching the Rox. Maybe make Elie an assistant.

I'm gonna throw out a name: Mark Price. He isn't Rudy T disciple, but he is a former point guard who has been making his way up the ranks. Another guy that the grizzlies have been high on is Dave Joerger, don't say I never did anything for yall.

I'd love to take a chance on Cassell, but you just never know when the mothership is going to land to take him back home to his home planet. Having our taken back to space like that is not a risk I'm willing to take.

No NBA coaching experience, plus he didn't do so well coaching UH.

Cassell/Elie/Smith have all been assistants in the NBA.
