Sounds like your ass is getting all sore with people getting called on their homophobia. People so uncomfortable with gay people often are hiding stuff themselves. Just saying.

I don't know if you are trolling or you actually believe this nonsense, but I'll humor you. Your argument is basically that it is OK to use slurs as long as they are for legitimate "flaws" in the human condition, such as r****dation or homosexuality. May as well extend this to other "flaws"; if a woman is barren, she is obviously a failure to the human race so lets make up a slur to accentuate that further. If a person is born without a limb, let's go ahead and pick on them too. But why stop there? How about people who aren't _quite_ as intelligent? Or not _quite_ as athletic? They are, after all, failures, relatively speaking. Throw 'em up against the wall!

There was once a political movement that believed this sort of thing, but its name escapes me...

To the bolded , I have first hand experience - My youngest sister was born breach back in the early 80's and is severely disadvantaged due to those circumstances.
She is now 31 and has the mental capacity of .... maybe a 12 year old. There is a flaw or something worng with her"cognitive equipment". It is an inate disposition - one in which neither she , I , nor you has any control. You cannot say the same thing for homosexuals.

By the way , she's not gay ..... just easily coerced - but she has a 6'4 245"lb @$$hole of a brother to prorect her.

Count me in the camp that believes that calling a non-homosexual a f*g, or a non-black person a n**ger, or a man (instead of a woman) a b**ch makes each word lose it's impact.

I actually think it would be great if people would start to use these words without regard to the groups they were initially used to offend.

The actual word is irrelevant. The intent is what is important.

    Context.

The cursing should be fined, not the "homophobic element"...

So let me get this straight if you're uncomfortable with gay people that means you're gay, but if you're comfortable with gay people that means you're straight.

No. People that are so freaked out about gay people often are overcompensating. The question then becomes what are they overcompensating for? Self-loathing to the tune of Ted Haggard?

Not sure where you made the logical leap in the second part of your statement. Being comfortable with gay people could mean you're straight or it could obviously mean you're gay.

Damn straight! All them N*ggers and f*ggots and r****ds better not step on Corrosion's right to free speech!

BTW, apparently Kobe does not agree with your assertion that he was entitled to his bigoted free speech, since he has apologized profusely and admitted he was in the wrong. Nice of you to celebrate his mistake for him though.

You'd think that Kobe would be more sensitive to this issue with Luke Walton on the team.

actually my comment was more of a blanket statement to any group of people offended so easily and completely not in context. (i dont even like kobe) dont think i am a bigot (ok maybe a little) but really i just think these groups have nothing better to do than nitpick at every little thing... what does it accomplish really? very very little. it does not change the connotation of the word or people's use of it.

now you could take this post and say im doing the same thing as these groups by acknowledging your comment, instead of ignoring it like i said... but hey guess im a bigot and a hypocrite. Just saying.

So you are saying, its ok to mock overweight or obese people?
since its not the "ideal" state.

or to mock people that are not tall like the average? because its not "ideal" to be short?

Few things are more entertaining than making subtle jabs at a short man's height and seeing the reaction.

    $100k is too much

Especially when LeBron doesn't have to say a penny for saying this (said it after the Amaechi news):

“We’re like family and you take showers with each other,” James said Wednesday. “We’re on the bus together and we talk about a lot of things and if you’re not trustworthy, like admitting you’re gay, you can’t be trusted. It’s a trust factor.”

I mean seriously. Which comment is more offensive to homosexuals? Kobe calling a ref a *** (with zero evidence that the ref is homosexual) or LeBron saying that homosexuals are not trusthworthy? If you were a homosexual, which you would you deem to be more offensive? (and be honest).

I think you totally misunderstood that quote. Might want to re-read it...a few times.
