I know we're only talking about JL vs. Avengers but there are several Marvel characters IMO that would beat the JL. Also, wasn't Wolverine part of new Avengers? I think he would be a tough out for the JL. Superman would finish him but I can't think of anyone else on the JL that could beat Wolverine.
Green Lantern could just put him in a green bubble, take him to outerspace and then let him out. He'd suffocate. Sure, he'd keep coming back to life, but he'd keep dying and he'd have no way to get back to Earth. Wolverine could take out...well....Batman maybe. Everyone else on JLA would take him.
Wolverine is not as strong as Wonder Woman or the Martian I imagine. He's certainly not as fast. They could knock him out pretty easily and then tear his body apart to make sure he doesn't heal. Green Lantern could pin him down and make a giant chainsaw to cut through the adamantium. I think Batman would be able to as well. Even if he isn't as strong, he can certainly fight hand-to-hand and maybe take on Wolverine with a sword or something.
To defeat Wolverine, you have to cut his head off. I can see the Green Lantern argument but I'm not sold on the others. Wolverine would surely beat Batman.
Only if your objective is to kill him. Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter could just remove him from the fight indefinitely by taking him to the moon or something.
That's what I was going by. The one Character that I think DL would have problems with would be the Phoenix/dark Phoenix. She's very underrated.
I assumed this argument was for the classic/core Avengers. So no 'new' avengers. Pretty much everyone in the marvel u is an avenger in some way. Same goes for DC U and JLA. Wolverine's spine is laced with adamantium. How can you cut his head off? Good argument, though. Just boot him to the moon. If he doesn't catch you with his claws and cut your leg off in the process.
There are plenty of characters in Marvel who could give DC characters problems, or even beat them, it's just that the Avengers are not one of them with regards to JLA.
Considering Superman can move at the speed of light, he could dump Wolverine on the moon before Wolverine could even think about it...
You would have to cut it off with something that was made out of adamantium. There's a story line in Marvel that talks about how Storm was able to kill Wolverine without cutting his head off. It was a great read but they didn't complete the story line.
Yeah, Wolverine wouldn't have a fighting chance with Superman. I'm not a big Superman guy but there's not many that could fight him or keep up with him.
He is and that's one of the reasons a lot of people can't stand him. All the arguments I'm using in here are why I can't stand DC heroes. Wait a minute...Superman can fly at the speed of light, strong enough to move planets, heat vision that is as hot as the core of the sun, invulnerable... Ugh
Yep, and if anyone has kryptonite, he can just get the Flash to steal it away from them, faster than they're able to react. Cant the Flash run through time or something like that?
