Hoping for NO to upset LA and steal the series but that will be nearly impossible due West and now Gray being out. I honestly expected LA to sweep them, but that won't be the case now. However, LA will now key in and probably double team Paul every chance they get. This success of NO will rely on role players and the bench from here on out.

I'm talking about this whole season. Boozer and Noah missed a lot time so let's not act like Rose was playing with them all season and CP3 had West for most of the season. I'm not just talking about the rosters right now but over the season.
The difference between the two teams is basically the division they played in. New Orleans played in the toughest division while Chicago played in the weakest division.

hahahahahahahaha couldnt be farther form the truth.

my fam is from new orleans. my uncle has been a season ticket holder since 2002-03. i go to a lot of new orleans games and that west/okafor front court gives teams problems defensively

They're ok...I agree, there are worse PF/C combos in the league...especially now adays...But I dont think they scare anyone or can affect the outcome of a game like a Noah/Boozer combo....They are pretty similar , yes, but Boozer is a better overall player than West..and Noah is a better defensive player than Okafor...

Care to explain why you are rolling your eyes? Look at the damn season and you will see that two big key pieces for Chicago misses a huge chunk of the season.

Let me guess David West and Emeka Okafor sucks though. I clearly responded to a guy saying if Rose was in New Orleans and New Jersey for the season he would be iverson 2.0 w/e that means.

I'd imagine Phil will be thinking of putting Kobe on Paul for defensive purposes, at least for a few minutes. The question is for how much time is that practical? Fisher is a turnstile, but I don't think Kobe can guard Paul for that long without it affecting his own offense.

ionno about that. it's a tossup at times. boozer can not create his own shot and has been living of great pg's feeding him the ball for good looks (dwll/rose) while west is a legit scorer and closed a lot of games for NO this year.

noah is better than okafor no doubt tho

Kobe did a bit of this in the 4th quarter for a number of possessions. Hornets solved this easily by getting the defender switch on a pick-and-roll, leaving Gasol "on an island" to defend Paul. At this point in his career, I don't expect Kobe to be able to slow down Paul; he's too much of an elite dribbler and passer to be pressured. It was laughable when Ron Artest tried to guard him.

true, but at that same time. boozer wouldn't be all that hot without a pg feeding him the ball as well. that's why they really don't negate each other that much. imo west ability to create his own shot is a more valuable trait over boozer.

I'll just say this...If LA doesn't win the next game, they don't deserve to win it all

Phil Jax said in the interview that Artest was their best player in the game and that while Kobe scored alot, that's all he did..

Even if they lose the next game, I still think the Lakers have a good chance to win this series.

True. Basically, Chris Paul has to be playing out of his mind for this whole entire series, PLUS have significant contributions from various bench players for them to have a fighting chance (i.e. when the stars aligned in gm. 1).
