I don't really care about other people's interpretations. If Wonder Woman isn't considered a magical being, then Thor shouldn't be either.

That's stupid rationale. Thor is a God, born to a God that lives in a magical place where other Gods live.

Wonder Woman (depending on her origin story at the minute) is a woman who lives with a race of warrior women, not Gods, that worship a God that has given them special abilities.

    There are completely different characters.

I was under the impression that Wonder Woman was a demi-god created from clay. Why else would she be cavorting with Ares and Hephaestus?

Justice League is strong enough/smart enough/powerful enough to defeat anyone at anytime.

That's part of the reason DC was always boring to me.

Like I said, all depends on her origin story. Either way, her powers were bestowed upon her by Gods. Thor is a God.

Thor and Wonder Woman both have Godly powers. If Thor is considered magical, then Wonder Woman should also be. But she isn't. She may wield magical weapons, but she herself isn't considered magical. That's my point.

Again, Gods simply gave Wonder Woman super powers. Thor is a God.

I don't know if one or the other is or is not magical, but you don't see why that distinction between the two would allow for their powers being based on different things?

Yeah, but it would be like one of them FIFA rules where if you play for a national team, your dual citizenship isn't valid to let you play for another country's national team... so he's EARTH's.

I don't even read comics... and I get involved in eGeek talks like this.

No, there is no distinction in the type of power. You're trying to argue about the strength of their powers which is irrelevant to my argument.

I believe that if Thor is considered magical, then Wonder Woman should also be. And she isn't.

Batman builds a device to shut down Iron Mans suit just like the one Captain America had in Civil War.

To illustrate my point, take Galactus & Silver Surfer.

Galactus is a cosmic being, and he gave power to the Silver Surfer. And because of the nature (power cosmic) of the power, Silver Surfer is considered a cosmic being ever though he's nowhere near Galactus' level.

I am expert at Magic. Using my magic I make your bones so thick they are unbreakable. Do you have a magic power of invulnerability? No. You were made invulnerable as a result of my magic.

On Thor, his strength and whatnot are not based on magic. It is is Mjolinir that is magical and it is through that and the Odin-force that he access magic. His super strength and invulnerability is just a nature of his status as a God.

Wonder Woman has no Mjolnir that has a magic link with her that gives her mystical powers. The "lasso of truth" is magic based I believe, so that would be magical. But Thor actually can access mystical power in addition to his physical power. Wonder Woman, as far as I know, has no access to mystical power. She simply has the strength, reflexes, flight, etc. that were bestowed upon her by Gods.

Additionally, Galactus gave Silver Surfer a part of the power cosmic. That's why he is considered a cosmic being. If Galactus had simply used his power to make Silver Surfer have super strength because he physically augmented his body, he would not be a cosmic being. He'd just have super strength.

This thread is great! I wonder if a poll would be almost as skewed as the Jason Terry poll
