I have to switch to T-Mobile for work and I think I'm sold on this phone when it comes out April 20. I'm a little reluctant to switch (current iPhone 4 user) because I'm going to end up losing some of my favorite apps, but if I'm going to go Android, this will be a great start. It's actually been a tmobile.com exclusive for a few days, so maybe someone on the forums has already gotten one and can offer a quick review. Is anyone else planning on getting this dual core and 4G beast? More info on the phone: <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/pIv7ZSX4oYk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I will seriously consider getting this a couple of weeks after it comes out. It's almost a sure thing if there aren't major problems. Don't know if I can wait on the HTC Sensation even if it's better.
The LG G2X is indeed a very nice phone, but if you're able to wait until early this summer, the HTC Sensation will be released for T-Mobile; just check out the specs on this beast. I do like the fact that it will be running Android 2.3 and that it indeed will have gorilla glass. Yea, I heard about the Sensation but unfortunately I have to make the jump by the end of the month. Hopefully the G2X can still stay relevant after the Sensation drops!
It's a stock beast. I'm sure there will be dev support for this on xda in the future. if you're on tmobile, i definitely recommend. however if you're a fan of htc sense, it's up to you if you're down to wait.
Someone has already rooted the European version of the phone and says its a beast. Cyanogenmod community has already said they will have official support for the phone and that a mod should be out in about 2 weeks after the April 20th launch. It comes with the AT&T bands so if a switch does happen you'll be able to use it on AT&T's network as well. The IPS screen is supposed to be gorgeous and the battery life even on Froyo is pretty good.
I just got the Galaxy S 4g... So far so good, but pretty soon I think I'll regret not waiting 1-2 more months. I just HAD to get rid of my Blackberry.
I want this phone but the only think I don’t like is that the screen might scratch easy. It looks like the screen is equal if not better to the Samsung super amoled screens
This phone actually has gorilla glass. If you don't know what that is, YouTube gorilla glass and be amazed!
I believe the display is IPS (similar to what the iPhone/iPad have only a lower resolution, WVGA, same resolution as the Samsung Galaxy S phones).
Gorilla glass may be pretty much indestructible but it does scratch easy- http://androidforums.com/motorola-droid/45812-has-anyone-scratched-their-gorilla-glass.html I'd recommend a screen protector of some sort.
I had a Nexus One and I never scratched it and I'm pretty careless with my phone. The gorilla glass was really good. The G2X has gorilla glass. It's listed on the gorilla glass maker's website.
there will always be regret when it comes to android purchases. android flavor-of-the-week/month syndrome.
I ordered the LG G2X for TMobile already, should come in soon. After much research I decided this was the best phone for me. However, waiting will always bring out new phones that are amazing too, it's your choice to weigh the waiting versus the features.
Exactly. Waiting has almost become pointless. Once you wait long enough for that phone to come out, by the time you order, there's already a better phone in the works that will come out a few months from then. Then what? Do you just keep waiting for the next best phone?
