I guess it only took one game of him dominating Duncan for them to pull the trigger. Well deserved, man's a beast -- hope he keeps it up.

Beat me to it. Oh well.

Randolph has had a nice season, but $71mil/4 years seems pretty steep.

Grizzlies must be feeling pretty good about their Gasol-Randolph future. Heck, I would too..

With a healthy Gay this team will be deadly next season.

Any idea on what this would do to their cap space moving forward and their ability to sign Marc back?

The Grizzlies have a reputation for being cheap because of the Pau giveaway but Heisley has always spent when they were a playoff team.

I expect them to match any offer/lock up Marc Gasol in free agency.

Good signing I think, Randolph uses his skill more than his limited athletisim, so the age factor won't play a huge role in his game.

Their front court of Gasol and ZR is now one of the best in the league

Marc's a RFA, so they can exceed the salary cap to sign him if they want.

If it's a max ascending conctract the first year of Randolph's deal would be at $15,334,773.

Including Haddadi's QO this would put the Grizzlies at $54,810,156 in salaries commited without Gasol.

The Grizzlies own Gasol's bird-rights however and will be able to match any kind of offer.

Grizzlies have the salary space to keep him even at the max (around $13M)

I think the Grizzles will give Marc a new contract before he goes into free market.

I guess playoff teams haven't yet caught on to the benefits of a 'no extensions' policy. Not sure what they're thinking.

It was a franchise saver for the Rockets though with what happened to Brooks.

All those rules go out the window for now. We gotta wait for the new CBA to know anything.
