Wow. Another great night of boxing, another great story gets told. Before the fight, I couldn't pick a winner. Ortiz was exposed by Maidana and had an uninspiring draw with Lamont Peterson in a match where he should have won. Berto on the other hand, has never been truly tested despite being on HBO more than Erik Morales ever did. So to say this fight was better than expected is an understatement. Loved seeing both guys goto war.

Ortiz really surprised me. He did lots of talking before the fight and he proved himself. He's made a complete bounce back since the Maidana humbling. Vic had Berto was backing up all night long. What's next? Unfortunatly, he said he's done with 140 which is filled with talent. I think I see him fighting Mayweather next. Why else was Floyd there? He's scouting. On a related note, nice to see him around a boxing ring at least. Thought it was hilarious the fans started booing him and then started chanting "Manny! Manny!"

As for Berto, somewhat disappointing. Can't say I'm surprised. It's funny though, he probably earned more respect with this fight than any other fight with the way he hung in there. Berto never really recovered when he first got dropped. Like Kahn, losing this one should make him better. It seemed like he didn't know what to do in there once he got in trouble. Unfamiliar territory for him. All that slick boxer stuff must have went out the window. Definitely not ready for Pacquaio.

And juanma, noooooo! There goes a monkey wrench in the plans of the Marquez rematch and the eventual Gamboa-Lopez showdown. Another guy that was suppose to only be a measuring stick, goes out there and sparks out the star. Beautiful. Props to Salido. I love these Mexican and puerto rican fighters. You know they're coming with guns blazing.

Mayweather was there because he is good friends with Andre Berto, but yeah probably also looking to see how well they did. I would love to see Mayweather fight Ortiz as a stay-busy fight for Pacquiao. Ortiz is a hard hitting, come-forward southpaw similar to Pac, at least in style, so it would be good for Floyd.

I honestly think Ortiz could give him a good fight. When I saw Ortiz's build yesterday I was surprised, he looks like full blown, in-shape WW. Definitely think its a better weight for Victor.
