Fundamentals always over athletic ability... But when athletic players start to master fundamentals then they become legends.
The Rockets team is a decent example of that - Chuck Hayes/Luis Scola/Brad Miller over Jordan Hill and Hasheem Thabeet But when athletic players get fundamentals...yeah sorry the George Mikan era players will have a brutal time of it... I posted this in the Artis Gilmore thread. What kind of slow footed earth bound fundamentals would get past this? Spoiler Fundamentals and intangibles and experience count along with athleticism. But we'd be lying to ourselves to say that Blake Griffin's athleticism DOESNT help him. But basketball is about putting a ball through the hoop. Several ways to get that done. It isnt like being an NFL cornerback where you're HOPELESS WITHOUT athleticism.
You mean the same era of basketball that had Wilt destroy everything in his path because he was so much more athletic than everyone?
Seeing as you've previously pointed out KMart's, ahem, obvious Egyptian heritage, I would call you out, but then again, Egyptians (and middle easterners) do indeed check the "white" box on questionnaires... Wait, did you say fundamentals?? <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/EgwHmvyAc7s" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Do you guys think Blake Griffin would be twice as much better if he was fully black? Or maybe he wouldnt be as good as he is now if he was fully white?
Psycho T is a bit of revalation as Larry Bird got ridiculed for picking him so high in the lottery; eveyone had Psycho T pegged as a 2ndrounder because of his tweener nature. Not sure why he suddenly started beasting, maybe its bacause Boozer is one of the softest players in the L.
Coaching definitely makes a difference. Hansbroug, Collison, and Hibbert all suffered under O'Brien and have dramatically improved in only a few months.
