He basically outplayed the entire front line of the bulls. I know that Indiana lost, but hansbrough was huge. And on a more general point, the rise of the american white bball player: Kevin Love, Tyler, Gordon Hayward, in a couple of more years, Matt Howard is going to coming into the league. All of these guys have a stigma of being slow unathletic players, all seem to be thriving once given the chance. Tyler needed a coaching change before he was able to even get any minutes which seems ludicrous to me now. Is this a sea change?
lol? You are the one that said this is a great season for white players, CH is just adding to your list.
Finally the white man is rising up against the oppressive regime the black man has held and is finding ways to get a niche in basketball society without being laughed and ridiculed at. I have waited generations for this... this is a huge step towards equality. The next step is affirmative action drafts, which Utah already implements. Jimmer Fredette all the way baby - #1 pick for the sake of equality.
Another plus with drafting Jimmer is that he follows the righteous hand of God and his loins are untouched by the devil that reincarnates itself in the woman's vagina. Or atleast by theory and that's all that really matters. White Power 2011.
I don't know if he will be, but you can tell that he doesn't fold under pressure. The guy hit shot after shot.
No I do not, I was only trying to point out that the unathletic player, which people freely label all white player, seem to be thriving and now I am hailing hitler because of it? Is this a joke?
Oh yeah, and the reason I said white american was because I want to distinguish from the European players who are often athletic: Pau, Dirk, etc.
For people who defend their pet coaches with the worn out nonsense that he's not on the floor playing badly, look at what happened to Hansbrough and the Pacers. Jim O'Brien gets canned, a novice takes over and the team dramatically improves, especially one player the prior coach had a vendetta against. What makes Hansbrough a relevant player in the NBA is his ability to hit mid-range jumpers. He's changed and adapted his game to the NBA because the inside power-stuff from college won't work at this level. He's also fearless.
This distinction got me thinking: When was the last time we saw a white American be among the dominant players in the NBA? Well, let's just consider "dominant" as being voted to an All-Star game. Naturally, I immediately get visions of John Stockton prancing around in the fantastical courts of my tortured mind, but once I push him aside, my mind's a little blank... I started looking up All-Star rosters, and it took me awhile... Q: Who was the most recent white American to be voted (not as an alternate/replacement) into the All-Star game? Spoiler A: Brad Miller 2004. LOL.
I think that Kevin Love proves that fundamentals can paw'd athletic ability. Might we see more of this? It is clear that the nba is built on athleticism, anytime anybody attempts to evaluate a players ability to be a superstar, this is not just a prerequisite, it's a demand. What I wonder is if the George Mikan era of basketball could be the lakers in a 7 games series, because of their fundamentals. It's just a thought.
