Heat and Lakers. If the finals is Heat-Lakers, it's like the Yankees playing the Yankees.

OMG, if any team is the Yankees, it's the Lakers, since they've been in half of all NBA Finals, always have one of the top payrolls in the NBA, and have by far (BY FAR!) the most frontrunning fans in all of sports (expect to see Laker "fans" buying up all of the tickets in New Orleans). I really don't understand how anyone outside of die-hard Laker fans can root for these guys, unless frontrunning is just your style.

LOL it will be a good series, I can point at laugh at the Yankee team that loses.

If it's Lebron, well he fails

If it's Lakers that loses, well kiss the 3 peat bye bye, and we can finally see the end of the Kobe>Jordan threads that pops up once in a while

Exactly, the only excuse for the Heat not being at the bottom of someone's list is if the Mavs are at the bottom of their list. I can't ****ing believe they came out as #3 in the poll.

OKC and Chicago are my two favorite teams in the NBA (except the Rockets of course). Not only are both of them in the playoffs this year but they're both actually pretty legitimate contenders. I'd be so stoked to see each of them in the finals.

    For me it's:

    Thunder
    Bulls
    Denver
    Memphis
    Portland
    NO
    Boston
    Orlando
    Atlanta
    SA
    NY
    Lakers
    Heat
    Mavs

I'm rooting for any team that plays against the Lakers. However, I think the Lakers are going to win it all again.

I don't get the Heat-Yankees comparison. Sure, they have three star players, but they don't even come close to having the highest payroll in the league. Hasn't the complaint with the Yankees always been that they just try to "buy" World Series wins all the time? That sounds more like the Mavs, Lakers, and Knicks to me.

Nah , at least the Yankees pay top dollar for people in their primes...Mavs are more like the Washington Redskins...They pay folks for career achievement...The Heat are more like the Patriots...Damned if they do, damned if they dont!

The rockets will always be my first choice but that's not happening this year but I like the Bulls.

The Bulls have a solid team and D.Rose is entertaining to watch.

Anyone but the Lakers. Since, I think the Heat have the best chance out of anyone in the East of taking them down, I'm going Heat. Best scenario would be the Bulls winning it all, but I don't see them beating the Lakers in a 7 game series... at all.

How is rooting for the Heat, a team that has salary cap limits like every other team, like rooting for the Yankees? The Yankees can outspend everyone. The Yankees also usually have more talent than everyone, and I can name a few NBA rosters that have more talent than Miami.

Pacers. It'd be hilarious if that sad-sack team that couldn't even win half their games suddenly caught fire and destroyed everyone in the playoffs. Unfortunately, I probably won't get to root for them very long. :(

I don't root for teams other than the Houston Rockets but I often like to see a) great talent and b) the opposite of what everyone wants happening.

So, I'd like to see a Lakers/Heat final complete with Kobe calling Lebron a f*g.

The Heat can't spend too much NOW because of the salary cap structure. BUT they will be able to out spend everybody (within the current cap rules) because of all the exceptions. You can add an MLE caliber player every year, even though you already have THREE max players on your team. It is a lot easier for them to recruit FAs because of the superstars, and the attraction of South Beach.

Of course if the new CBA installs a hard cap, that's another story. But I highly doubt it.

Since I live in Chicago now, the Bulls I guess. Pretty indifferent, though.

That's just not true. The Heat had a payroll this year of $65 million. The MLE is about $6 million per year. If they add one MLE caliber player every year, it would still take them four years to reach the Lakers payroll of over $91 million, and by that point, the six year contracts of Wade, Lebron, and Bosh would be close to expiring. So the Heat are unlikely to get to the point where the Lakers are by adding players with cap exceptions.

This. With the current fad of stars joining up in 3's to constitute a "dynasty", It is imperative that a team like Denver proves that you can still win with a collection of good players. I am all for Denver and OKC from the west.

If the pupular teams get to the finals, I want to see Miami and the Lakers go at it. Lakers and Bulls would be intriguing as well.

I don't want to watch a Heat/Laker finals, because ONE of them will come out a winner.

I would rather watch Heat/Thunder or Bulls/Lakers. That way, there is a chance BOTH Lakers and Heat come out as losers.
