Those of you who are replying to the moron, please stop. It's either a ruse or he really believes that crap. Either way, it's not worth responding to.

For what it is worth, my best friend is an assistant coach in KISD and will be laid off at the end of this school year for budget issues. He just told me that Mayde Creek, Morton Ranch and Condo Ranch in KISD all have had walkouts and Mayde Creek has had riots.

KISD is in lockdown mode now to prevent anything else from happening.

Who knows.... maybe I am wrong, maybe people in this country are finally seeing that we are in a SERIOUS situation... that the government is rotting away, that NASA, the infastructure (roads, services), etc. are financially broke... that gas will soon be $5 a gallon and REAL unemployment/underemployment is 20%....

    THINGS ARE NOT OKAY

My sister goes to Seven Lakes HS. She said that the police forced the students off school grounds and they weren't allowed to return today. I think only 2 or 3 teachers were laid off at her school. Fine arts teachers or something..

Oh, well, it's all ok then, i mean if it was just a couple of fine arts teachers

Out of curiosity, did they move the protest just outside the school grounds, or go {insert comment here that would demonstrate a lack of actual conviction}?

Anyone can be laid off. It's a part of life.

She said that it was really weak-sauce at Seven Lakes. They (maybe 60-70 students) were just standing around with no signs or anything. After they got kicked out, they went to the shopping complex next to the school and had donuts

She wasn't one of the protesters but got to see it because she's a senior and gets off around noon.

Mayde Creek and Taylor High were hit the hardest. 50+ Layoffs.
    Morton Ranch had 25-30 layoffs.

Katy High demonstrated but I heard they only had 5 layoffs. Lol.

the schools should have done what needville did for me (Class of '99).

    Computer Science: Use Pascal

    Typing: Use a typewriter

    Chemistry: Just teach dimensional analysis

    Football: Blank check for mediocrity

Yeah, apparently kids were pulling fire alarms at Mayde Creek and the principal there got hit in the head. They got locked down in sixth period and were not allowed to go to their last period (7th).

Morton Ranch can't afford those kinds of layoffs. That school is growing pretty fast and is like the second or third largest high school in Katy now (pretty sure it has passed Cinco for second).
