Kobe deserves a fine and a slap in the face.

    He should apologize publicly.

how many people have never used the word *** or f*****.
those are the only people that can say anything about it, or complain. If you use the word then you can't get upset at others that use it. Even the word gay is used in a negative nature, although *** or f***** is more severe term.

Most people say something along these lines....

person 1: hey man did you like that movie you saw last week?
person 2: nah man that movie was gay (saying the movie is bad)

I think saying something is "gay" using it in a context where it is associated with something negative in nature is just as wrong. I hear people say this all the time it doesn't make it right but is very common in our society. People use the word gay and f***** like normal vocabulary nowadays and its wrong but you can't change that.

All NBA players talk **** and use all kinds of obscene words go look at some of rasheed wallace's old blazer videos. The fine had to be hefty because the NBA wants to keep a clean image and show that it punishes players that do wrong. Unfortunately for Kobe he was caught on camera.

These days the word f***** has nothing to do with gay people. When I call someone a f***** I'm not trying to upset gay people I'm basically just calling that person a b****.

    Haha! Whoa! Easy there, cowboy.

I'll humor your question. I would probably feel a surge of laughter, since I'd assume this someone is either a joking friend, a racist blind guy a la Clayton Bigsby (since I'm neither Asian nor black), or just simply a moron.

By the way, I have a six year old cousin with Down syndrome, you highly insensitive person.

If the ref was gay I think you would have more of a point.

The point is that it's pathetic that slurs like "f*****" have become ingrained into teenage and twenty-something lingo. It shows how much our society is regressing. Can kids even write properly anymore?

As good of a basketball player Kobe is, I can never like that guy. He's too much of a douche for me. I like players like Durant and Rose.

Wow. And this guy is 32?

Jesus... I'm in my 20s, and I grew out of that word ages ago. People who still use that really need to grow the hell up. I wonder how Kobe feels about white people calling each other the n-word.

    Kobe is just trash.

He's going around flinging homosexual slurs, raping people, ballhogging, having running feuds with teammates, and obsessing about his stupid legacy.

The bottom line is he is a great basketball player but a crappy person.

Yeah, and he's not even a great basketball player either. He's good, but nothing more than other swingmen apart from having been on stacked teams his whole career.

You know your extreme bias is causing your opinions to not hold any weight. I fricken hate Lebron as a person, but I'm not delusional enough to down play his basketball abilities.

Not sure why you'd hate LeBron as a person considering the only bad thing he did was stupidly hold a televised press conference thinking that a benefit for the Boys' Club would help his reputation instead of tarnish it (blame his PR firm/friends for that). Kobe, meanwhile, rapes a chick, rats out one teammate, throws another under the bus, and generally acts like a douche on the court and off. However, you are entitled to your own opinion. If your opinion was that LeBron wasn't a great basketball player, you would not know anything about basketball since by every metric he's been a top three player in the league since he joined (and tops every year for the past four). Kobe, meanwhile, has put up very good numbers but nothing more than other swingmen have been doing for years (except at slightly higher volume). I mean, the guy can't even shoot 47% and yet he takes twice as many shots as the players on his team that shoot near 60%. His longevity is impressive but he's never even been the best player in the league.

BTW, tonight's game was a great example of what Kobe is. He actually had a very good game through three quarters. Then in the 4th when he came back in, he decided to play Kobe ball, taking lots of bad shots and not playing any D and basically singlehandidly letting the Kings come back from what should have been an insurmountable deficit. He missed 5 straight shots down the stretch. Then he hits a three and everyone will once again call him the BEST CLOSER IN THE GAME. How about using the teammates that got you there, Kob?

Yeah, you are entitled to your opinion, but the part I bolded, no way.

As far as Lebron goes, best player on the planet for the past 3 years. But too many reasons to name why I dislike him as a person, didn't even like him when he was with the Cavs. Most of it was probably not totally his fault either, his PR team is dumb, NBA babies him too much, he buys into his own shet too much, and he's too dumb to realize how douchey he acts sometimes.

LeBron says some douchey things but AFAIK he's never raped a chick, ratted out on a teammate, thrown a teammate under the bus, or demanded to be traded. And this is despite having played seven years where the best teammate he ever had was Mo Williams (who isn't even a top three player on the CLIPPERS for crying out loud).

Which year was Kobe the best player in the NBA? He's basically a low-percentage volume shooter whose been given liberty to chuck despite having great teammates. Do you honestly think LeBron, Wade, McGrady, Allen, Iverson, etc couldn't have won with PJ and Shaq, or PJ/Gasol/Bynum/Odom etc? I mean, these guys all put up comparable or better numbers to Kobe, but never had the support.

Agreed! That's why I call my lazy, trashy, possibly criminal friends nigg**s.

I'm not referring to them as American blacks in a derogatory sense...I am just referring to them as what the idea of a nigg** is so it's ok.

    Besides everyone else does it!

In retrospect, the comments are kind of ironic. Closet much, Kobe?

It's a market the NBA can do without. They just organize well and will boycott your sponsors to get what they want, even if they don't watch. Same with peta. Remember ginobli's bat incident? He had to apologize, pledge his love to all animals, then the next time it happened he went nowhere near that bat.

stern might have protected him from some of the backlash this time by going overboard on the fine, but kobe better be careful or next time he'll find himself wherever they shipped off tim hardaway.
