11 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and 1 block. In his THIRD start as a Rocket and SIXTH start of his career.
Looks like he got another rebound and assist to top it off. Dragic's career high in rebounds came in his game against the clippers, 2 games ago. He not only managed to match his career high twice, but got himself a new career high in rebounds. Dragic's career high in assist is also 10, but after today it's 11. Thanks Phoenix! Talk about raising your value before the season is over.
I will cover negative comments for Dragic good game: --play Timberwolves --play many minutes Anything else? Anyway, congratulations from me for Goran's first triple double! It was worth staying up until 4:30 a.m. to watch. Wish to see more games, but it probably won't convince negative people he more than marginal starter anyway. Until next season, fierce dragon.
This is really random but the Houston Dragons sounds awesome. It would fit in nicely with Yao too because the Dragon is a big part of Chinese folklore and mythology. Houston Rockets is great but that is just a thought.
Hopefully Dragic and Lowry can help elevate each other's games. We have a very nice lineup next year. Lowry/Dragic Martin/Lee Budinger/??? Scola/Patterson Hayes/??? Hopefully Willy will mature this summer or else Morey can draft us a nice young lotto SF. Thabeet should work hard also.
I thought Dragic could challenge Lowry for the starting spot next season however for as much as Dragic has improved in a Rox uniform, Lowry has taken his game to another level. Our PGuard spot is in good hands for years to come.
I'm much more confident in this pair then AB/Lowry. Both play defense, can rebound and have better vision. I'm just not a fan of a guy that has to rely on his shot so much instead of more rounded players like Lowry and Dragic but that's just me.
Lowry has become an even better player than Brooks last season, his increased shooting percentage pretty much solidifies the statement. Brooks, in my opinion, would be a very good bench spark if he could play similar to last season. However, the argument for last season was Lowry did everything else besides score, and Brooks couldn't do anything else but score (and not that efficiently). This time around, we have Lowry who could everything else AND score. And now we have Dragic, who is doing what Lowry did for us last season. The major difference? Dragic is also hitting his 3 point shots. Basically, we thought our PG combination was good last season. Now our PG position is great, and easily the best in the league.
The difference is not WHAT is being said about Lowry vs Dragic when both were backups, it's WHO was doing the talking. When Lowry was a backup, you had lots of wise Rockets fans (wink wink) who actually watched the games closely saying Lowry would be a better starter than Brooks. Now, even though Dragic is playing well, those same Lowry supporters have not turned coats; rather, it's the green Clutchfans posters who think the 'next best thing' is always better than the current best thing. I actually was never opposed to Brooks being on the Rockets. I just thought his best would be as the scorer and #1 option off the bench. Someone with his shooting touch and finishing ability would always have a place in the NBA, but his lack of defense and inability to run an offense properly (and to get Yao the damn ball!) would ensure that his days as a starting point would be numbered. In the Lowry vs Dragic case it's an entirely different story. Lowry plays better defense than Dragic, and according to Hollinger better defense than any other NBA point (although I wouldn't go that far). Lowry runs the offense, right now, much better than Dragic. Dragic is silky smooth when cutting in the lane and has regained his shooting ability as a Rocket, but only time will tell what his ceiling will be. Until then, we're set at PG for the next couple of years! Man what a great feeling. Before Morey came aboard PG and PF were our two biggest weakpoints. Now they're our strengths. Unfortunately our foundation cracked before its time and the castle crumbled. Maybe the inability to predict was also Morey's fault, but for now I'm not going to peg that on him. He's got another year or two to fix center and SF before the knowledgeable fans start grumbling. Until then, the masses can riot all they want. Thankfully, none of us have any power.
