Angel is going to make it VERY difficult for Barmus to get his job back but General Mills is also VERY loyal to his veterans so we'll have to wait and see.
agreed. I didn't know where people's expectations/hopes might be. He is sitting at a .395/.438/.512 avg/obp/slg clip right now. If you're happy with what he did last year (which is at least close to the avg you quoted): .280/.316/.348, then I have no worries. Keppinger had a .350 OBP in over 500 AB's last year...I don't know that Angel can even be at that level over a full season. But if he does, things will be going really well and I'll be happy!
I don't think it's in their best interest to bench Sanchez when Barmes comes back...at least not as well as he's playing right now. They need to keep some semblance of consistency in the lineup and he's pretty much it right now. Let Barmes be the utility guy.
Clint Barmes for comparison sake is a career .254/.300/.404 hitter including a .224/.266/.375 hitter outside of Denver.
Another thing about Kepp is that he rarely strikes out. He led the majors last year in ab's between strikeouts and some ridiculous clip. I think he struck out a total of 15 times last season which is insane. Kepp would be fantastic on a contending team.
Hopefully Wandy can give the Astros a good game tonight. The offense has been doing well and so has the pitching. Barmes/Kepp will be coming back in a few weeks to bolster the roster. I think we have a chance of slowly getting above .500 in the coming weeks.
Time for Wandy to be lights out for the next 6 innings. Good thing they have the Astro Killer Zambrano out there.
Dave Clark strikes again. Why is this scrub still on our team..................? Why did Brad Mills not replace him when he came into town -.-
