So Shaq and Duncan weren't the primary players for their teams since they didn't get the ball in the clutch? I just want to make sure we stay consistent with our arguments. So who were the primary players in those title Laker and Spurs teams?
Jordan and Bird never had a chance to run away. Magic chose to come out specifically to play with Kareem, so you are wrong there. Kobe tried to run away but his team wouldn't trade him. He also lobbied for certain his management to get certain star players, so you are wrong there as well.*
They still didn't run away..... so you my friend, are still wrong. They didn't go to another team = true statment so 0for2 for you
Everyone on that list, except MJ was surrounded by all-stars and quality players for most of their careers on a premier franchise. Cleveland is no Boston or LA in any sports universe.
Rockets Pride, you really do not have a concept of how a team is run or how a team is constructed. Cleveland is fairly small market team, that can go out and get the high-priced free agents or even attract the same number of stars (or offer the same opportunities) are offered in New York or LA. Kobe didn't play on a team that was really considered not having talent until about eight or nine years in his career. While, the Lakers benefit from alot of underhanded deals in this league, it really isn't fair to compare a franchise like that to the low-down trodden Cavs who are mediocre franchise at best (they don't deserve to win, either). Alot of stars, and even hall of fame players go to better teams all the time to win. It's kind of hypocritical for someone like Charles Barkley to criticize Lebron, when he basically left a somewhat above average 76ers team to go to the very loaded offensive powerhouse Phoenix Suns. It would be different for Kobe, if he actually did have to play for a franchise, like the Charlotte Hornets or Memphis Grizzlies. Hell, he was the one (along with his agent) that said they wouldn't play for Charlotte. That doesn't sound like someone who is in grinding out on whatever team.
LOL at people defending Lebron's decision. News Flash Cleveland had the best record in the league for two years in a row, they were legit contenders last year with that squad. It was a very well built team around Lebron because a lot of players were handpicked by him, and they let Lebron run whatever offense he wants to run. And don't give me that Cavs suck this year shet, that doesn't prove anything, that team was designed with Lebron as the center piece, and supporting pieces just to fit the way Lebron plays, no crap when you take out Lebron they are going to suck. The reason Lebron left wasn't because his team wasn't good, it was a good team, the reason he left is because he is simply lazy and doesn't want to work as hard anymore to get a ring. He obviously cares more about his legacy and how people will talk about him in the future, than his hometown, his teamates. And after all that he thinks he did nothing wrong and the whole world is just ganging up on him. A diva like that gets no respect from me, I don't care how good he is on the basketball court.
orlando is built around dwight howard completely, you don't see them sucking to the nth power when he's out due to suspensions.
And I never blew millions of dollars since I never had millions of dollars to blow. They are both true statements but also both idiotic statements. Bird didn't play in the real free agency era. Jordan decided to sign an extension with the Bulls and play with two other HOF players.
People still bashing LeBron for decision to leave I see. Get over it already. Maybe if Mo Williams and Antwan Jamison actually showed up in the playoffs LeBron would still be in Cleveland. That Cleveland team wasn't winning a Championshp period.
No one said his team wasn't good. There is a difference between being good and title worthy. And I challenge you to find more than 3 instances in the last 30 years of a team winning a title when they didn't have at least 2 star players on their roster. Go.... LeBron left to play with better talent...i.e. another star player. And there is nothing wrong with that.
No because Stan Van Gundy isn't a dumbass like Mike Brown and actually coaches team offense instead of giving Lebron the ball every time they needed a play run.
No, but he will never be forgiven by many for the incredibly jerky way he left. You can't have a rational discussion about LeBron with some people. In all honesty, I will never think of LeBron the way. I just don't have hatred towards him. Kobe was lucky he didn't get what he wished for. When he wanted out of LA, he acted a bigger jerk than LeBron ever did. The Lakers saved Kobe from himself.
They were suppose to be title worthy, people only **** on the cavs after Lebron chokes on cocks in the playoffs. Everyone were on their nuts during the all star break when they were steamrolling every team including blowing the shet outta the Lakers during the Chrismas header. The same thing happened the year they played Orlando, nobody gave Orlando a chance to win. Oh so when Cavs are winning, it's all Lebron and they are contenders, when they choke Cavs were never contenders, and all of his teamates are d-leaguers. Which one is it.
In case you missed it the first time I asked, can you find me more than 3 title teams in the past 30 years that didn't have 2 star players on the team? If you think the team was title worthy then this should be an easy task, based on the amount of talent that it typically takes to win a NBA title.
This is 100% correct. Only bad thing was he announced leaving Cleveland. No doubt in my mind that a lot of people still would hate him if he didn't announce his decision on ESPN and just did it the normal way.
For the people that bash Bron for leaving Cleveland answer this. Did his supporting cast show up in the playoffs?
Oh now there's a set amount of stars required to be considered title worthy. It doesn't matter how many wins you get, all you have to do is count the stars on the team. Why does teams with less than three stars even bother playing then, this obviously isn't a team sport, this is just counting how many stars you have, the rest of the teams can F off.
