I have no probel mwith being concerened about the enviroment, but this is just ridiculous. Almost like the project that was going to give apes their own autonomous country AND voting rights. Why do we care more about monkeys and trees than Palestinans and Sudanese?

I expect that the UN, when establishing the right to life for the earth, made sure to include measures to defend against the Sun going supernova and swallowing the earth. I'm not sure why they stopped at the Earth when other planets deserve rights, as well as the Milky Way itself. Gotta clean-up all of our space junk and who better to see the job through than the UN?

As someone else points out, how is this anymore important than the rights abuses suffered by the UN's fellow man in various places around the globe.

 

I would love for the UN to impose a tax on countries that are over-consuming. If the whole world took as much from mother earth as the continent of North America we would need more than one Earth to sustain our ways.
