I never mentioned his shooting percentages or tired defense. You posted his stat line -- I thought it should be accompanied by his minutes. On the face, 15/10/7 is a heck of a game. Then you see that he played every second of an overtime game and it's just meh. Lowry puts up similar lines in 20 less minutes.

Great point, B-Bob. Imagine how nice a backup point Dragic would be with more time in Adelman's system. I hope we get to see his development under Adelman. Les needs to stop being rediculous.

Dragic had 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 point in the fourth quarter and overtime.

So a statline of 12/7/5/4 in 36 minutes doesn't look so bad.

I'm merely saying Dragic's efficiency would most likely increase had he been given rest.

What a joy to see Dragon unleashed and play few games as starter. Houston great fit for Goran so far, 3 point shooting go from 27% to 52%! Now that shooting back, he just need to learn plays and learn system. I like Goran having many young team mate like Lowry, Courtney Lee, Patterson. He is comfortable and confident playing basketball again with good team mates. It is shame that Houston miss playoffs and will not see magic of Dragic like last season...but future is bright in Houston and you have only seen beginning of Dragon. He is going to prove LongTimeHater and other doubters very wrong.

This. He has a nice skill set, he just needs to play within himself. Can't trust a point guard, who plays out of control, to run an offense- odd for a guy who's been Nash's understudy.

    LongTimeFam,

Very clever thing you do with quote box—heehee!

But difference to say top five point guard and discredit good games and playoff performance. Flamingdts prove you wrong about Goran’s solid game and you have no response. I never say Goran will be elite, but he is better than you willing to credit him for. It is okay you do not know, you don’t follow Goran career for as long as I have, but if you do a simple research before you judge, you see Goran had double double in 3 of 4 starts this season. Potential is there, no need to come with negative comment when anyone says something good or that he had nice game.

Anyway, no use arguing with negative person, Goran’s play will speak for itself. He was fan favorite in Phoenix and will become very well liked with Rockets fans if he stay.

What was I proved wrong about? All I said was that he played every minute of an overtime game to get those stats -- I'm still right? I don't think giving perspective to a stat line is a negative thing to do.

I've said that Dragic could be a starter in this league, but nothing that will blow you away. In other words, I don't think Dragic will ever be a top 10 PG like say a Kyle Lowry currently is. He's played great for the Rockets since coming over, but we both know he's not a 52% 3PT shooter. This thread is about how good he can be and I think I gave a realistic outlook -- I'm not calling him a career backup or anything.

Nope. Dragic is content with his role. We could be set at the PG position for years and years to come.

Nobody's truly content with being a backup. Dragic accepts his role, just like Lowry accepted his when Brooks was starting.

Well, if Dragic wants to take Lowry's job, then he has to be better than Lowry.

Lowry is currently a top 10 PG in this league, so Dragic has to be better than that.

By all means Dragic, work hard and take Lowry's job. It only motivates Lowry to work even harder, and the cycle continues until we have the best PG and the second best PG in the league ;).

FYI, Rubio is one of the very worst point guards in Euroleague.

you'd have to standardize the conditions. Brooks with a healthy ankle and speed is the perfect complement to lowry. I think that claim is justifiable after seeing it in action. By the way, my notion of a healthy brooks is not a "Pipedream" like a Yao or tmac, considering it was his first injury and he is a young player. I have no doubt he can return to capable form.

But now as i think about it, i think you have a valid point as well, it was a change of scenery problem as well, and the healthy aspect maybe couldn't have changed much. I guess we'll never know.

just about to say that. You can't be content with anything in order to improve. Everything becomes a mediocre from standard point of view as time goes on, because young guns, etc are always coming up and improving. Satisfaction with mediocrity is the mark of a failing player.

Every bench player should and want to play as the starter. Whether he does or not is decided by the coach, but he realizes his play is what shifts opinion.

Very true. I wish Rubio was with Timberwolves now so we could watch Dragon spank him again tonight. Maybe superstar potential is there with Rubio, but I do not see so far. I think you all dodged bullet that Morey could not trade up in 2009 draft for Rubio. Would be waste of good assets.

Dragic is a marginal starter at best, most likely will be a career backup.

Dragic has 11 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in 24 minutes of action so far in his third game starting for the Rockets.
