When he was with the Suns, I always mistaken him for Nash (I thought Nash got a haircut). Of course, other than being white, some of his moves resemble Nash's.
wow thinking its racial??? anywho Dragic does remind me of Nash with the way he plays i am happy with our PG rotation. Now we need to work on some of our weaknesses probably C and SF.
man im starting to like dragic more and more! he brings the hu$tle! and again tonight he burned past people to draw another foul in transition. (forget that airball at the end of overtime - it was a LONG game)
Dragic is a perfect backup to Lowry. He is kind of crazy but actually efficient. A good defender and plays extremely hard. I feel comfortable if Lowry has to miss a few games next year (assuming that is our pg rotation).
I'm sure this is probably a little racist, but when I watch Goran play, I can't help thinking about this sketch, and how "Funky Boy" is such a perfect nickname for his style of play; a little reckless, a little old school; if the Rockets ever make the playoffs during his tenure, I hope he goes with a playoff beard. Oh, and as for his potential; he gives me the same feelings I first had about Lowry when he first came over; the quintessential backup who changes the pace of the game when he comes in, someone who I want to see get 20 minutes but I don't know who he should take them from, and has a serious flaw that will prevent him from being a true starting PG (Lowry's shooting, Dragic's ball security). Lowry improved his shooting, but I don't think the same will happen for Dragic (there's no way Morey's that good at pulling backup PGs ready to breakout). Next year when K-Mart goes down with a lengthy injury (he played a full year in 2011; he's definitely working with borrowed luck), I'm VERY interested in looking at a Lowry-Dragic-Lee-Patterson-Thabeet (one can hope, but more likely Chuckwagon) lineup at certain points in the game; I think that would be amazingly fun to watch and dynamic on both ends of the court.
Yes, I just happened to watch that quarter and I mused that it would be nice to have a player like that on our team.
It's interesting but maybe the Suns offense was just not a good fit for Dragic. In his last couple of games with us, getting significant minutes, he's completely reversed his career ATO. That was my biggest worry with him -- he's always been a turnover machine. Adelman's offense (long may it last) may be a great fit. Looks good to me.
The 53 minutes does not work to his advantage. He literally played the whole game. Imagine running up and down the court for 53 minutes, he would be exhausted mentally and physically. Dragic is a hustle and energy player. He had 3 steals in just the first quarter. The guy runs around a lot, so playing extended minutes does not work to his advantage.
Except Vujacic; however, I love it. Goran is one of those players that plays better and harder when they're mad
Brooks is for sure the better scorer. He has elite shooting touch, elite quickness, he can score basically at any way/moment/place. His quickness will allow him to create some easy shots too. But being a bad player at everything else (and everything else is a lot), is he really a better player? Goran is just more solid, a more complete player. You can't try to win a championship with Brooks as starting PG, and I think we all agree here. Thinking on a contender lineup, it's preferable to have players who don't harm the team, even if their peak it's lower. "Help my team more or less, but please, don't bother. Don't bother my best players, don't break my team game." You'll never take full advantage of players like Yao, Cousins, Pau, Howard with Brooks at the PG position. We have already seen, and it's the reason why Kyle helped the team more than Aaron even when he was his backup. So who is truly the better player, thinking on a championship roster?
Come on now. Dragic played 53 minutes. His shots stopped falling, his opponent could get by him easier and a lot of factors come in when your legs and arms start getting tired. He had a few stat boosts with a couple of assists and rebounds, but he also had a few stat drops with missed shots and defense.
