Surprised you guys haven't jumped on this yet. Perry Jones and Harrison Barnes both appear to be returning to school. The weak draft gets weaker.

(I posted this in another thread, but it's fitting to post it here.)

Not so fast. There is some talk that, under the new CBA, the rule regarding draft eligibility of U.S. players may change so that players must be TWO years removed from their high school graduating class before being draft eligible. Guys like Austin Rivers (who would be most affected by such a rule change) are even tweeting about the possibility.

So, what might look like a stacked draft now may end up being even weaker than the 2011 draft.

Man, that 2013 pick from Memphis may turn out to be pretty sweet! ;)

What would be even better news for the Rockets is if they removed the age eligibility all together.

He has Rockets written all over him -- long, defensive-minded SF with the ability to score inside/out. If he's available with the 2nd first-rounder, it's a no-brainer, IMO.

if Singleton is not Donte Greene part 2, he looks ok at the SF position...if not Kawhi Leonard seems ok..i like his Melo-like post moves..

Yeah, I like Singleton. Not quite the prospect of Terrence Jones but still a solid late first rounder. However, given all of the prospects announcing that they'll be returning to school, Singleton may have been pushed up to the late teens.

At this point, unless a top prospect just falls into the Rockets' lap (like Patterson last year), and assuming that no "major trade" for a veteran happens that involves the Rockets' picks, I'd like to see them do the following during the draft:

    (1) Trade the #14 pick for a (top-10 protected?) 2012 first round pick, with protection that burns off over time (i.e., top-8 protected in 2013, top-7 protected in 2014, top-5 in 2015 . . . you get the idea).

    (2) Find a solid mid-first round talent at #23 OR package #23 and #38 to move up into the teens to grab a guy they really like who apparently slips out of the lottery.

    (3) If they don't use it to trade up, use the #38 pick on the best international prospect on the board (a la Sergio Llull in 2009) and let that guy "marinade" overseas. If there's no international prospect they like, trade down or out of the second round and pick up some cash (for trading down) or a future pick (if out).

I was all for getting Selby at first, until i read his story. He kinda sounds like the Aaron Brooks ride all over again. If he is around for our 2nd round pick, then perfect.

I wouldn't mind snagging Selby with Orlando's pick.

We are going to draft the best Rockets PF since Charles Barkley.

Otherwise, that Kanter kid is acceptable. He can bring in some Ottoman money. Also idolizes Houston local legend.

If we could get Biyombo with the 14th pick and Singleton with the 23rd pick I would be very happy going into the off-season. Those two would do wonders for our defense.

    1st Option: Draft Biyombo

2nd Option: Package picks and players for Brook Lopez

Josh Shelby is a great "potential" pick.

Was a top 3 prospect coming out.

Carolina's the clear-cut favorite for the title next season -- they're returning an experienced, NBA-sized frontline, a potential top-5 pick in Barnes, an uber-talented floor general in KM, and a handful of explosive wings (Strickland, McDonald, Bullock). Not to mention, they're adding 2 blue-chippers to the mix in McAdoo and Hairston... SMH.

With Adelman gone I would really love to trade Martin for a high draft pick
