DeAndrea Jordan is tall, athletic, can dunk, and block shots.

Ok.... Lets seriously think about this before you want to spend the amount of money he will be given.

-Does this mean he will help this team win ball games?

-Will he be enough of an upgrade to push Chuck Hayes out of the starting lineup?

-If Adelman is still coaching, does he have the skillset to be able to make passes out of the high post, and not be an offensive liability?

-Could he be able to develop offensively to not become a liability?

-How is he mentally? Does he have the toughness and winning edge you need?

Except that won't work, because I doubt he would accept a front loaded contract when other teams are willing to give him the full raises yearly because he is relatively young and full of perceived "upside."

Worked just fine for The Blazers and Westley Matthews.

What's the difference between getting most of your money up front and the rest after? you still get ALL the MONEY guaranteed

Espn did a column on him and one of the execs said that they think he will net between 50 to 60 mill. For a guy that all he does is dunk and block shots, is he really worth that money? One of Morey's biggest F ups drafting Dorsey instead of him. Plus Jordan is one of Blake Griffin's best friend. I'll doubt they let him go since it might piss Griffin off and we won't sign long term.

The Clips are going to do everything within their power to keep Griffin happy, and it all starts with resigning his best friend, Jordan, even if it means overpaying for him.

We're talking about the Clippers. If you go by history you will see the odds are in our favor:grin:

His attitude and signs point to him being a Rocket in the offseason.. he seems like he really wants to be here and sees this as a huge oppurtunity.. nice, he would be GREAT with PPat!!

Ive been a proponent of aquiring DeAndre Jordan during the offseason. He's exactly what this team needs on the defensive end.

I just wonder how he would fit in offensively. He doesnt have much responsibility with the Clippers in that capacity.
Does he have the BBIQ and passing skills to run the offense from the high post ? I dont know ....
More importantly will he do the dirtywork on the offensive end that help get all those easy shots.

I really wish I had watched more Clippers games this season and paid particular attention to those things rather than just the games against the Rockets and particularly his work on the defensive end or the few highlights he had.

The question becomes , is he worth the gamble of a front loaded deal in that he could fit in and be highly productive or does he become the next Kelvin Cato.

I know everything is up in the air given the status of the collective bargaining agreement, but under today's rules, how much would the Rockets have to spend this off season?

Dude... I would love to see a frontcourt of DeAndre and PPat and/or the chuckwagon. We would dominate defensively.

Bimathug said in his latest cap status update that the Rockets have $7.13 million in cap space without the cap holds of Yao Ming and Chuck Hayes. Jordan is going to cost us more than just the MLE especially if we're going to pry him away from Los Angeles. It may come down to renouncing Yao's and Chuck's rights to have a shot at him, which I doubt we do.

If Thabeet could ever develop into a defensive minded C (i'm talking averaging 1.6 ppg, 8.7rpg, 2.9bpg) and DeAndre Jordan as the starter, I could live with that.

    Future Rockets:

    Lowry/Dragic
    Lee/?
    Budinger/?
    Hayes/Patterson
    Jordan/Thabeet

get one more 2-3 guard/forward and thats your 8.5 man rotation.
