We gotta re-sign Chuck and play him as a backup C and PF. He'll still average 22-27 minutes a game. We may see Luis get dealt to make way for Pat. It'll be sad, but if we can get a good C in a package for Luis, we may have to make the deal.

I can still remember when a majority of us couldn't wait to get rid of him. Yup, he isn't a stop gap anymore - he's such a defensive guy that he really makes a difference.

    He'll be back.

Want to know why? Character and leadership.

If he was just your typical NBA player with the typical mindset, I'd say 'anything could happen'.

But with Chuck? Not a chance. This guy embodies everything a role player could ever hope to stand for. He's a glue guy, much harder to replace than you would think. And he makes the most out of his abilities in a league full of talented divas.

They don't make 'em like Chuck anymore. He's a keeper.

No brainer...Chuck Hayes is the heart and soul of this team. I don't see him asking for an outrageous amount for the Rox to not keep him here.

Didn't he just have dinner with Les Alexander not too long ago? No way he's going anywhere.

If they let Chuck leave, it would be as stupid as Boston sending Perkins away. They'd be kicking themselves afterward.

Chuck needs to be re-signed yesterday! The Chuck Wagon has become one of my favorite players to watch in the league and it would be foolish not to reward him for his incredible effort and improvement.

My favorite moment of this season was Chuck destroying KG in Houston. Pay the man. He's earned it.

Better leader for sure. His impact as a player has been greater than Shane's on quite a few occasions. Let's hope for the best.

Is he going to get more than Baby Davis or about the same? I dont think Chuck is giving discounts like haslem did. Haslem had just finished a full mle deal and wanted to be back for the run again. Hayes hasnt made the kind of money like that. Someone will offer Hayes reggie evans type of money and the rockets cant do anything about it. He's ufa, meaning there isnt a macth deal involved. Humphries is another guy who will get the same kinda of money. I appreciate what he's done, but I think he will be somewhere else next year.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Hakeem was, is, and always will be my favorite Rocket. No one will ever top him. That said, I have a special tier for players like Mario Elie, who created this tier all on his own with 110% heart and hustle. Other players have come close (Othella and Battier come to mind), but they never quite made it. Mario has always been the sole occupant of that tier, until he had to make room for Chuck Hayes.

The Chuckwagon rules, and simply put, it'll really freakin' hurt if he goes.

    Git 'er done, Morey.

I hope we dont low-ball him. Chuck is loyal, and a hard worker, but lets not go on the cheap and expect him to sign for chump change.

Love the way Chuck humiliates superstar PFs and Cs. (*Cough* KG *cough*) They think they can post up Chuck because he's just 6'6"?! Go ahead, then!
